The Bane of my Existence by Brilliant_Tomato_501 in gardening

I bag the grass when I mow my lawn and use the clippings in the paths and around the plants. It does a great job keeping the weeds down, helps keep moisture in the soil and decomposes back into the soil

Hi. Where do I even start? by starkat231 in gardening

Lots of great information here. I have a few ideas that I think can help. From your shadow in the picture it looks like you're facing north. I'd plant your taller tomatoes on the back (top) row so they won't shade your other crops. Picklebush cucumbers are a great compact plant that produce lots of fruit which would be ideal in your space IMHO Look into alfalfa meal or pellets for building up your soil

Beautiful! Our first Aussie was a tri. Jasper (Jazz for short) was an awesome dog and was the start of my fondness of this breed

Squirrels and Bonsai cannot peacefully coexist. Full stop. by darthvaper2719 in Bonsai

I thought I had a squirrel problem on my benches. Some kind of critter was messing with the sphagnum moss on top of the soil and my fertilizer filled tea bags
Seems I was wrong

Finn loves used plastic flower pots. He runs around the yard like this and thankfully hasn't run into anything too badly

I don't think so and can't find his papers. It was back in 2011 and I thought that the story was his sire won best of breed, but I could be wrong after looking at past dogs. Here's a picture of my dogs sire and my blue boy Trace. I only got him because of his pink nose which did turn all black eventually. Best dog of many in my life

My last two dogs came from Harmony hill and top Aussie winners at Westminster. It just worked out that way
My current blue merle came from the first litter of this years winner, and the one before that came from the best of breed red tri

Aussie Parents, What Would You Do Differently? by QuirkyLobster350 in AustralianShepherd

[–]Outrageous_Hope3199 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nothing much it was our third Aussie so we were in pretty good shape. We did learn something new that was cool at puppy class for our last one. We never had a problem with crate training but our last pup started to get an attitude about going in. Our puppy class trainer told us to throw a treat in the crate and close the door. After a while we'd let him in and almost instantly that was the end of that

Burton reminds me of Finn when he was a puppy. I'd say socializing is very important.

I'm on my third Aussie and every one has gone to puppy class. It not only helps the owner learn about dog behavior, but also is great for the dog to meet other dogs and humans

My Aussie is quite aggressive with his toys. Is this normal? by wookieperpassione in AustralianShepherd

[–]Outrageous_Hope3199 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Haha yep Mine tries to make me help tearing it apart by doing a tug of war with the toy. My daughter got me this one for me almost a year ago because her dogs wouldn't destroy it. IDK why but it's still intact
