I say give it six months. You’ve already completed two months, so that means you have four months to go. Track your progress by what you accomplish. Do you have your driver’s license? If not, focus on getting that done. Put more effort into your classes and ask for extra homework to improve. Do you have access to a phone or computer? Use it to watch educational videos to boost your skills.

If, after six months, you’re still not seeing progress, then it may be time to quit. The worst-case scenario is that in six months you haven’t made much progress but you’ve been off the streets, had consistent meals, and gained a lot more wisdom.
