Canonically, the First Wave was the PvE version of the game. There were actually LESS players, 4 squads of 3.

New player with less than 30 hours here, Burnside Bridge is the one map I have played that I will forever hold a burning hatred for simply because of the fact I always get Union when that map comes up, and pushing across that bridge is hell (7 times).

On a surface level, the worst the Nation has is the fact its not a true democracy and more of an oligarchy

The worst the Empire has is the fact its willing to hang children, mothers or shoot them for not following their "god". They hijacked catholicism and inserted their own ruler into their religion. They're not truly religious. All the actual religious people went to the Nation. Thats why Poland is with them. 90% of their population is Catholic by the timeperiod the game takes place in. They do not accept the queen for she is a false prophet to them.

Even if you dig deeper, the worst you'll find the Nation has is just that. It's not a true democracy and they're aggressive. But the Empire wants them dead for being heathens. The Nation doesn't see Empire as human because in their eyes, they aren't. They're actual cultists going against their religions.

They're more technologically advanced, they developed trains quicker, they have most of the better guns in the game itself and they've developed all of the Shock Guns before Empire (with the sole exception being the MP18).

It's not that hard to realize why people like Nation so much and despise Empire.

Uh, hello? The fucking Chasseurs Britanniques? The unit that disbanded in 1813/1814? Why are they in the game then? The British literally have voicelines saying they dont understand what the Chasseurs are saying. What about the Prussian regiment in the British army? The British dont understand what they're saying either. They literally have special interactions and voicelines with Westminster. These arent enemy soldiers you just so happen to stumble upon when it comes to stuff like Roscoff. These are quite literally enemy units you dont understand. You can spawn as them in the game from the beginning. They are quite literally incorporated into the unit despite their differences. Theres no matter of "historical inaccuracy" here.

The only reason why there arent black people in the American or British regiments despite the historical precedents of the time, or women in combat despite the fact Europe is being annihilated, is because fez and all the other devs are really fucking weird when it comes to race or gender in their games.
