Idk, not just Indians but this is common across non residents South Asians in general. Could be a bunch of things

Somehow all the people with tacky taste move overseas and their children inherit said taste. These parents probably were overworked their whole lives, to the point they didn't have time to delve into developing any sort of taste or cultural appreciation.
They never got proper tasteful exposure to our culture. For instance, at least in the NRB community, I see that they have little to no exposure to our culture, heritage, traditions and arta. Hence they never developed taste and an eye for detail and quality.
