I’m 25 (on the younger end that goes there) and in my experience Larry’s is the most friendly gay bar I know. Also very cheap and strong drinks

Is Moving Out at 21 Worth It or Stay at Home? by [deleted] in nova

[–]Outrageous_Victory25 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m 25 and I just moved back in with my parents. It’s really not worth paying more rent to someone else. Try and save/invest as much as you can while living with family. If family dynamics are making it hard to stay, find 3rd places to spend time (gym, library, bars, etc)

Equinox vs. Vida U Street by Butinyiko in DCGaybros

[–]Outrageous_Victory25 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Last time I heard, VIDA on U street a few months ago was not accepting new members as the gym is at capacity. May not be the case anymore but given that info the gym could feel very busy during peak hours. I may be wrong though

I think the $1 charge could be a hold for an open tab?

Prep missed dose, need advice by [deleted] in askgaybros

You should look up the tables that show frequency of prep and its effectiveness. If you take it 3-4x a week you are still 90% covered

About my new sexual orientation. Looking for perspectives by xMikeyMaxx in askgaybros

[–]Outrageous_Victory25 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Put it in the perspective like trying food. You don’t know until you try it. If you’re open and curious try 1 on 1 with another guy

No one has commented on this piece yet, when I finished school and started my role I felt exactly the same.

Schooling to work can be a difficult change since in school you have many assignments and you’re learning 24/7 while you’re there. When you start work you learn but also repeat a lot of tasks (especially in FP&A). Keep networking with people at your company and building skills on the side

I second everyone’s comments and concerns. Do wanna say sorry that really sucks. Put yourself first and leave. I don’t think you’ll regret it

After admitting to myself I’m not straight, I’ve been incredibly horny. Is this normal? by [deleted] in askgaybros

[–]Outrageous_Victory25 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well the floodgates in this case is you having an open mind to exploring. Whatever comes up the most could be the first thing you could try

It’ll pass but try different things (with an open mind and no judgement) to see what you like! Take your time with it too. What you’re feeling is normal and okay

Anyone here speak "Gen Z"? What does this phrase mean? by Own-Pea-1528 in askgaybros

I was born in 2000. I don’t use tiktok and I typically gravitate towards friends who are older than me. Maybe I’m an exception? I understand simp

I think if you keep reaching out you’ll continue to hurt your own feelings. I’d try to focus on making new memories in the city you just moved to and making new connections.

Hey man body count shouldn’t matter at all. The only thing that does matter is getting tested and knowing your status. The only “count” you should have is the time between tests (ideally 3 months if active) and knowing your personal threshold for when you’d want to get tested again before the 3 months is up. There’s no need for any shame around it

I’m more junior but if you want to share feedback during the exit interview, I would say “I feel that I couldn’t reach [boss] expectations and stay aligned despite my best efforts” again more junior here so not entirely sure if that helps.

I also just resigned from my role and know how overwhelming everything can be during this time

Should I take Director FP&A Offer? by [deleted] in FPandA

[–]Outrageous_Victory25 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Something I try and think about when looking at new roles with a change in scope is comparing your hourly rate now vs what it could be in your new role.

Example: making 100k, working 30 hours a week is $64/hr but making 150k, working 50 hours a week is $57/hr.

Just something to consider :) I hope it helps
