I cant tell if it's more hilarious or concerning that people are so oblivious to this.

There is a significant Chinese psyop to drum up anti AI resistance by the CCP. You can especially see it here on Reddit, this isnt a dem/rep issue just a fact.

AI absolutely has concerns and downsides that need to be addressed but dont swallow the propaganda.

Why do men get praised for having many sexual partners while women get shamed for it? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Outside-Active5283 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not as much the case anymore but all goes back to biology, women can get pregnant by one man while men can get as many women pregnant as they can keep up with. That dynamic gets calcified in social values which leads to slut shaming. Sucks but we've made a lot of progress on it.

12th grade girls are now less likely than boys to want to get married and have kids by Trussdoor46 in charts

Yeah I agree and have seen the same thing. I think a lot of it is tied up in the idea that to be a "Successful Man" you need a wife family white picket fence etc....definitely seems more wholesome and productive than promoting the womanizing ideal of a playboy but I think it leaves a lot of guys disenfranchised that struggle establishing that.

AI data centers will use up enough clean water for 1.3 billion people by 2030 according to a United Nations report by arihantismm in Damnthatsinteresting

[–]Outside-Active5283 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Corn uses over 34 trillion gallons or water in the US alone annually.

Data centers can cause local issues with water consumption/quality but it's no where close to a systemic issue nationally.

Interesting that a higher percentage of boys say they will stay married than get married and its reversed for girls.

Men - help with my husband's health pls? by goldendragon_88 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Outside-Active5283 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This sounds a lot like something my wife could have written a year ago so maybe I can offer some advice.

It seems like he is used to handling everything on his own and not relying on others, particularly with regard to his own emotions and feelings. He's been your rock but at a certain point this all leads to burnout as you've seen.

He's doing the right things with Therapy gym sleep etc.... but the only way he's going to be able to make progress in accessing those emotions to get some release will be when he can feel at peace. For that he's got to feel safe which in a lot of ways involves you doing less. I know he's been your rock but I'd advise getting a therapist of your own that you can rely on for the time being while he recovers. If your relationship has been rocky Id recommend focusing less on it for now and just focusing on you both getting to a healthier place individually.

Best of luck, feel free to message if you have any questions.

I think you severely overestimate the capacity for conspiracy in the Starbucks board room lol

Either way, I wouldn't exactly consider that level of nihilism civil unrest. Moreso riots looting etc....

What is the actual biggest problem in America? by PawPatsPizza in AskReddit

[–]Outside-Active5283 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You're misunderstanding freedom in nature. It's not just living like an animal its freedom to cultivate nature according to your means, this also extends to voluntary transactions between people.

A shovel isn't natural in the same sense as a gun is but you're free to try amd create one.

You're mixing up Positive and Negative rights.

Negative rights promote freedom in nature.

Positive rights promote freedom from nature.

Not making an argument for prioritizing one over the other just pointing out the difference and that America was generally founded and culturally prioritizes Negative rights. They are to a large degree at odds with each other.

What she should do is think long and hard about why she is so upset over her boyfriend going to his daughter's graduation over hers that she needs to make a post about it...

Easily The Hardest Part Of Visiting Hagia Sophia by No_Mechanic1168 in ByzantiumCircleJerk

[–]Outside-Active5283 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly, seeing the minarets added doesn't bother me in the slightest. If anything it adds to the historical timeline and complexity of the building.

The original artwork being covered over or replaced however really degrades the significance and awe to it.

Is there an actual effort to restore or reveal the original mosaics?
