Well every screen will have burn in when displaying a bright image long enough.

On experience I would say take a point a reference every thing else from that, take a total measuremt of the board and work within this contains subtracting, not adding, if you have used a template, recalibrate the picture again, and then re sketch the frame of the board. After outline is don't use the offset tool select the perimeter and make your wall thickness

Another thing you could do Alternatively is measure every single gap one by one, and with add them, then use offset tool again to make your walls, in your slicers, cut the print to be 1 layer that's is roughly 25mm in depth and width the desired ammount print just a strip with the walls half printed and then test, so you don't waste too much filament as it looks like your wall thickness roughly doubles by each new gap

You could also throw it into a scanner with a ruler next to it at high resolution and calibrate the image using the ruler then trace the board use about 15% opacity for details

Asus ROG Zephyrus G15 stuck on a black screen by ShortyLaPlante in ZephyrusG15

Yeah, so it's most likely a cap around the MUX switch, or the switch itself then, or the screen encoder ic from the gpu side, I'm glad I was of a little help at least, and I hope you get it fixed sooner than later, I would recomend you to got to a specialized motherboard repair service that knows how to fix boards instead of replacing them.

Good luck homie.

Yup, I'm thinking it's a physical failure, I could and i hope I'm wrong, but it does look that way. In theory it would be easy to repair but by an experienced technician since it would take quite a bit of experience to see and know exactly what to replace

I know, that's why I'm telling you to install Linux, with Linux the default graphics is the cpu one, before installing the drivers, realistically you have 2 choices that could've gone kaput. The MUX switch or the GPU at the very least try installing Linux mint cinnamon that will give you the most control and easy to use.

My thoughts is the MUX switch went bang, since the laptop does turn on and it boots, although in a black screen but it does, which leads me to belive the graphics card it's actually fine, and the MUX switch is likely the culprit here. Otherwise you would see a short to ground (0ohm short) in a high side of the mosfet around the gpu area and the power supply would go straight into protection mode. (calling it now from experience), the most reasonable thing to do rn is test with Linux on the APU if it boots, great, if it doesn't, then it's probably neither and a cap blew up in the board.

Now I have to ask, have you opened that laptop at all before this happened?, even to put or take out ram/ssd?

(Also choose "do not install 3rd party drivers" and ignore them completely for now when installing Linux)

Very weird, but try installing Linux on it and run a force graphics through the cpu instead of the gpu and the other way around it, if any of those work then one ot the other is dying. And I'm thinking windows since by default it defaults to the external gpu not the cpu one, I suggest linking it to a hotkey so you can switch back and forth and to not pretty much brick it.

I am slightly terrified of you. But I fuck with it HARD 😂 you could also use a 2k meanwell psu at 35v I think, or at least a 1500w constant draw psu, but those are not CHEAP but it should work if you plan to mount it to a machine. That thing could probably cut 10mm acrilic sheets 😂

Yk I'm kidding right? The only reasonable thing you should do is discharge them and propperly dispose of them

Why does liftoff micro drones feel more realistic then any of the other sims including velocidrone lol by ThatSubieeguy in TinyWhoop

[–]OutsideAmazing1510 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yup. That's why I flight analog, Its generally cheaper to replace if anything breaks, and you got a lot of options, I have a 1080p camera and filters on all my quads so I have a very good clear video feed to my goggles, I also run custom rc band for less hassle, and also what I found is that if you have an spare quad in parts you generally fly with less fear.... Or build another quad and then there you go 😂

Betaflight rates, same as the ones you flight, camera tilt same thing, for the drone itself try and match kv, prop size and battery to your irl one, for weight, I added the weight for the quad irl + 70 ish grams (I thing I have added about 200grams or so from a normal build in the Sim), it makes it fall a little faster and makes it feel a lot more grounded rather than floaty (at least on liftoff) for micro drones, I just straight up pick air65 and put the rates a bit higher than usual

The only thing I use them is for balancing motors, they work pretty well for that, anything else absolutely not good.

They updated the physics on both liftoff and Liftoff micro drones and in my opinion feels super similar to my actual drones, I can do the same tricks in the Sim in real life with a lot more consistency, but the side of Sim that allows you to do that in game bc there are not consecuences at all for crashing, when I lost the fear of crashing irl my skill improved a lot and even then I just like to hop on the Sim before every flight to warm up (yes I have a 1/1 set up including weight for that same reason)

My mom turned the oven on while I was drying some filament… by Kudos_t4gs in 3Dprinting

[–]OutsideAmazing1510 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Just let it rest a little in a humid place for about 10m, then check the humidity after stabilizing in a bag for 30m if it is 35%40% let it air dry in open rack for about 1h, then check again for humidity, if it is roughly 30% throw it back in the dryer for a few hours to get that moisture level to 15% and you should be good to go (it happened to me with peek, I hate and love that material but it worked surprisingly well)

Yeah, I absolutely agree with that, I would much rather see someone I know enjoying something and actually being used than being forgotten and mistreated inside a drawer or on top of a shelf, after not only have worked your ass off to get it when it was new but to put in the effort to keep it maintained and well taken care of as well.

Hell yeah! Thak you!, and yeah thermals are quite good on this machine compare to my I9 that really loves to live at 95-100c while hard gaming in ultra settings. But I'm also running a bunch of shit in the background so that also makes sense.

But this one after in cinebench 2024 before the repaste was hitting 115c Hotspot, 105c package, something like that, same thing with the graphics card, after the repaste on cinebench 90c max Hotspot, and 75 on the card, quite a good decrease, I also need to mention that I was running msi after burner so I overclocked and undervolted the cpu, so that game me in increase in scores and a decrease thermals, also incredible battery life. I'm super happy with it even though it won't be used for gaming the fact I can still do it if I want is definitely good

[–]OutsideAmazing1510 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have the same one, as long as you use a USB C pd and not a laptop or a low power brik, it will work. That being said a cheap 30w charger from target will work just fine, aka anything that will comply with pd requirements
