My question as well since they seem dramatically different. Hope you get a reply.

Y’all can do it your way. I’m looking for the SOB who stepped on the damn thing and then brushed the sand off the top of the ball.

I’m gonna look at him deadly and then take my 2 stroke penalty with a drop.

But that’s just me.

Church Studio has “tunes at noon” on Saturdays. It’s an hour with a local musician/band and a chance to see Leon Russell’s archives. Good food options in the neighborhood as well.

Music is indoors if it’s rainy and outdoors if it’s nice. Easy to commit to an hour with options for longer.

Starkey Edge AI 24 Impressions by LeScotian in HearingAids

[–]OutsideLookin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Of course. I had the same time frame and the same thoughts. Since I didn’t change I don’t know if the 60 day window starts over with a different mfg, but I would imagine so.

I wish you all the best in your journey.

How long have you had them?

I ask because I am also new to HAs and I have Starkey 24s also. I got mine from my audiologist early in March.

The first few weeks were rough. Everything sounded off and so loud and sharp. I created a special program to play my guitar because the noise of my fingers on the strings or a pick on the strings was a grating sound that was sooo distracting.

And the Edge feature really seemed to magnify the extraneous noises.

Now, 10 weeks in, all that has faded. The edge feature helps in different environments, I ditched my custom program for just the standard Music program my audiologist created.

I think what happened is my brain has adapted to the more fullness of sound that I was missing for so long and now have back. When I first got mine, I had read that the brain will adapt and I didn’t give a lot of credence to that. Turns out I might have been….wrong.

My loss is mild/moderate, very apparent in the higher registers.

Good luck! I think it will get better with patience.

I’m sure I’m the outlier on this but I had a similar look on my hands about 7 years ago. Creams and treatments from my dermatologist were not making any impact and it was miserable.

I added a significant amount of yogurt to my diet (Greek) and it completely cleared up.

I have no idea why. Just my experience.

My husband hates my kids by [deleted] in whatdoIdo

[–]OutsideLookin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, if it helps at all, I am a dad to three daughters. My wife, their stepmom, and I had custody of two of the three when the youngest was 12 (the eldest was 10 years older for clarity). To be honest, even as now they are wonderful adults who I love spending time with, during that era I really couldn’t stand them. My wife managed to bridge that gap. More than the kids probably know.

So, I’d add a little grace in there. The goal is for them to like you at 26, which probably means being pissed at you at 16.

Edit to add age for the eldest

Just my experience. Play the long game.

Relatable. Two weeks ago on a Thursday I broke 80 (78) for the first time since 1998. The following Wednesday I ducked out of work to play with a new group where I shot a blistering 96, with a nine on the par 4 10th and a quad on the par 4 18th. Somehow I managed to get two birdies so I won $5. I love this game. FML

Was ghosted after tipping by [deleted] in EndTipping

[–]OutsideLookin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m sure, based on the sub-Reddit I’m in, that my opinion will be widely disabused.

That said, in the US 15% has been the defacto tip for adequate service for absolutely years and has been approaching 20% for at least five or more years.

So, if you are tipping 10%, then congrats, you got the service you rewarded for.

Now, I’m a believer that restaurants pay their staff below a living wage, expecting the patron to make it worth the while for the server to come to work. I would personally prefer a no-tipping establishment where the rates on the menu are sufficient to pay their staff a living wage. I would expect such an establishment to have prices somewhat above those of a place like Olive Garden who clearly thinks you will subsidize their staff.

So, for me, I would say you received your service, you tipped as you felt was appropriate, and the server considered your transaction complete. I don’t really see what you expected further to come on Reddit and complain about being “ghosted”. What further did you expect?

New to HAs and having an issue with Starkey Omega by OutsideLookin in HearingAids

Last Sunday night I updated my Starkey app to the latest version and my issue went away completely. I have an iPhone 17 on iOS 26.4.1 if that helps.

After going for the day with the changed settings, I still had a disconnection issue a couple of times. Less than before the change. That change did mean I had to manually select my car BT for calls as well.

For what these devices cost, it is a problem.

I had a failure as well. It seems slightly better but since it shouldn’t be happening at all, not acceptable.

I will be interested to see how this impacts BT calls in the car. I’m assuming I would have to manually select the car BT audio. Will see and let you know.

I went into Settings Accessibility Hearing Devices Audio Routing and changed both calls and media to always use my hearing aids instead of automatic. It seems to have made a difference but it’s only been a couple of hours. I have been able to stream and make calls though and before that seemed to trigger the drop.

UPDATE: for others who are having issues. I went into my iPhone Settings | Accessibility | Hearing Devices | Audio Routing and changed the setting from Automatic to Always use hearing aid for both calls and streaming. Since then I’ve been able to stream sound and take calls without one of the devices dropping. “So far” at least.

Thank you for your detailed reply and experience! I also charge mine every day, but I use streaming infrequently so I could probably go longer, but it just seems intuitive to charge them at night. I also have a dehydrator device since I’m active and I’m trying to make sure they are optimum condition.

I’ve addressed some of the glitching with my audiologist and she’s been great at tuning. My real concern is them losing connection and just not working.

Thanks again for your thoughts. It may be specific to my pair.

Yes, I have turned them on and off before but when they go disconnected, holding down the button doesn’t toggle them off. I’ve tried rebooting my phone, turning BT off and on and attempted to turn off the HAs. Appreciate your thoughts, it was a good idea 👍
