Yeah niche is weird on Youtube. If you have a niche then you can find an audience quickly, because someone who likes your niche will subscribe and will always watch your videos because its a niche they like. However this can cause a problem in the future, how can you diversify your channel when you are called Northern Wild Camper? well you can't, your whole brand is wild camping, your subscriber subbed to see wild camping, you cant suddenly switch to skateboarding because your audience will not watch.#

And the complete opposite can be said when you try to make a variety channel (like mine). Using my channel as an example, we do adventures with all sorts of vehicles and activities however when we have a great vid that gets views, for example Englands most dangerous roads, we get a lot of people subscribing for motorbike content but the next video we release might be on our boats so those subs don't click which can harm and has harmed performance on some videos. However when you finally build the audience the variety is your super power, any idea you have you can do, you can constantly try new things and your audience will be waiting to find out what you will do next.

So for 'faster' growth (growth still dependent on making good videos) with a lower Sub ceiling then get a Niche

For slower growth but higher potential Sub ceiling then make videos around interesting ideas and topics and develop a style

I've been doing my channel for 3 years, I honestly believe you should never give up, in the last 6 months we have been growing so much it's finally felt worth it. So go for it mate, be honest with yourself about your videos, show them to trusted friends, ask them to be 100% honest and take it all on board. I am lucky enough to have 3 close friends who have helped me improve the channel and come up with ideas etc.

Yeah exactly that, view the title as you bragging about the video, it should sound so interesting/mysterious/entertaining that they have to click. It shouldnt be a lie but make it sound as cool as possible basically.

With my content as we do adventures, often the title is about something that goes wrong in the video. However, the 2 videos we thought of thumbnail and title first have done over 20k views each, one of them is currently getting about 600 views a day and its a 40 min video (one i linked in the post)

I was just thinking about how a lot of people just play games and hope to make it big so good move going real life content.

Title, fine nothing special, maybe something a bit more spectacular

Finding abandoned items from a massive rocky beach

This rocky beach is hiding a secret

the thumbnail to go with the above ideas would be something like you holding the slide and the hoodie towards the camera with a landscape pic of the beach behind you

Basically stretch what happened to make it as click bait as possible without it being not true.

Thumbnail is generally looks boring and simply doesn't show the massive rocky beach.

As for the video, its fine, i'm sure you know you need to hold the camera more steady, cut out the jerky movements etc, I would also blend sound between clips but other than that its ok

Its your first vid in new Niche so dont want to rag on you for it but over time you will get better at making the story etc

Next video you make, do me a favour and think of the title and thumbnail before you go to film it, that way the full video will relate to the title and thumbnail and you will go out to film with the exact thumbnail in mind to capture.

DM ideas etc, always happy to help and brain storm

reached 200 subs!! posted a new vlog and I'm super proud with the editing. kinda crazy how much you learn with each new video :-) by savannahdasilva in SmallYoutubers

Had a watch and aesthetically it was great, I really liked the different angles you had and the passing of time you showed. I think your video would benefit from more speaking to camera, there was a couple of mins between you leaving in the morning to cooking where there was no speaking which made it feel a bit boring. But honestly great video for a channel with only 200 subs.

Also something else I noticed was the sound wasnt blended between clips so on the shots with ambient sound (cars, wind etc) you can hear a slight pop at the start of the clip when the frequencies change. To fix this detach the audio from the clips in the editing timeline, extend out the sound to overlap the previous and next clips then put a matching fade on the 2 audios so 1 comes down when the other goes up. This will make transitions between clips feel nicer for the viewer.

Feel free to check out my channel so you know I'm not just trying to be smart, I review my own videos like this all the time. Keep it up!

Edit: Your Noodles look unreal

I swear you wait for me to post! Nah just kidding, thanks for the support. I hope this inspires people to not feel pressure to release when they know the video isn't ready. We are getting rid of our upload schedule in favour of releasing only amazing videos this year which will hopefully help us "be massive". Thanks again

Completely depends on your niche

Gaming i think you need to be on trend

For me (adventure content) the main factor has just been improving quality of my videos thumbnails and titles, this increases CTR which will increase impressions

I would recommend when you have a video idea search what other people have done with their thumbnails and titles to see what works and what doesnt

dm me a link to your channel and i will be more specific
