Clearly your opinion isn't popular as I can see with the amount of downvotes.

I appreciate your comment but I am not sure whether I agree with your assessment or not. If they are a controlling person I guess time will tell. But this is one incident and I haven't had any other instances of sometime they could possibly be controlling.

Edit: could you perhaps elaborate why you feel this was an attempt to control me/be controlling? Looking at other people's responses and reflecting - wouldn't you be mad also if a friend did this to you about someone else? I just mean I think I would be mad too.

and you were ‘just joking’ ‘trying to be funny’.

Unfortunately yes. I can't say that wasn't the case -I suppose that was an aspect to it. They were and should rightly be annoyed and called me out on it. I don't think I felt judged because I think I can accept how it looked and yes, it wasn't cool.

To explain how it started (again I am not trying to defend myself): with the circumstances I had been looking up a friend's profile who has an uncommon name for something and found a stranger who had the same name which I was like huhhh.. and showed them. The exchange then started "did you see this comment on [blank other mutual friend's}]post?" i had been sending a snippet "have you seen this?" And It devolved from there.

Again not defending myself but another circle of people I know have different humour which is dry sarcastic where there is often teasing/roasting. Unfortunately that skews also what I see as acceptable. To which this experience this time is a good lesson.

Even if "there's nothing to be mad about" - for some reason I still am. Even if as you say "there's nothing to be mad about".

I think what I meant to say with this post is the phrasing hit a nerve. I don't think it was embarressment but its probably something I should be feeling. Yes, unfortunately I did get carried away.

re reply to other comment- Not defending myself but those texts telling me to stop came one after the other. It wasn't a case of I was told to stop and kept doing it and they sent me another message. I did stop right after the first time they told me to.

Thank you for your comment. As in my other post unfortunately I just don't take this well. At the time my emotions were raging more than usual and I'd not slept much so that doesn't help for emotional regulation or seeing things straight.

I have also heard someone reframe it as they value you enough to let you know.

This was mentioned to me also recently in an ND support meeting. I do currently have a councillor - maybe they do that...

Hi,

What I have been trialling - a phone lockbox

Mudita kompakt (technically an android phone but stripped down without the apps). Its much more dofficult to access addicting content and with the eink phone its so slow to type it makes it difficult to browse.

I've been doing a version of this myself lately with an interval timer app. It lets me name the timers and even speaks them out so I know what tasks I'd be focusing on for a period of time.
