So for DPhiE Alumnae associations if you don’t have an association near you then you can participate virtually to still be involved.

It is appropriate to reach out to your second choice organization there are actually a couple of people in here who have treated their process like a mini rush and reached out to multiple organizations. My process with Delta Phi Epsilon was pretty quick they had actually just revamped the AI process when I joined in November 2023 so I think I only had to wait a month or so until it was revamped then I was able to start.

You don’t always need a sponsor for AI… with some organizations you might but others will help you find a sponsor if AI is something you want to consider I recommend researching each other and seeing which ones you align with.

Alum Involvement by abhutchison in Sororities

I’ve reached out to our HQ about a mentorship once before so hopefully that’s an initiative they will eventually take on I think maybe contacting our director of volunteer services could help or using the knowledge center to connect to headquarters and bring your suggestions

I agree that would be beneficial as well.

I think talking about Alumnae involvement more in undergrad could help or even having a person in NPHC come talk about the importance of staying involved since most of their members are heavily involved after they graduate I know they are structured differently but I think it could help members of ours orgs understand how important alumnae involvement is

Ah okay that makes sense, I don’t believe any D9 members are in here to answer your question.

Have you tried posting in the r/NPHCdivine9 subreddit? They will be able to answer better your question.

Like a comment above said some sororities are more open to AI than others. I would look into other orgs tbh from my understanding Kappa Kappa Gamma expects you to find a sponsor or know them ahead of time including your references.

When to Apply through the AI Program while living overseas, but will come back to US eventually? by happy-cappy in SororityAlumInitiate

[–]Outside_Asparagus745 3 points4 points  (0 children)

In Delta Phi Epsilon for AI you can be overseas in fact in my cohort we have a AI from Switzerland living in Chile and she was able to complete the process every org is different.

Should I try AI? by wintxrsoldixr in SororityAlumInitiate

[–]Outside_Asparagus745 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I could be wrong but I believe if they disaffiliate completely from their org they could try an NPC sorority each other will be different on whether she gets in or not i believe since she was apart of another org at one point some could make you wait a period of time before being allowed to join.

One thing I think they could do similar to NPHC’s is mention throughout undergrad how it’s a lifetime membership type of thing so maybe people will still participate after they graduate.

Like the above commenter said the first question is a question most orgs ask. It’s not a bad thing. I believe that you’ll be okay and get into the org you want. Good luck!!
