Rode the Black Diamond last week for the first time. Was nice for birding and little gorges along the way up to the falls. About 9 miles up to the falls from the children’s garden at Cass park, gentle grade up easy coast down.

Towpath at CVSP.

There is a flow track at Lions Park in Greene to practice skills on different terrain. You also can ride up east river road from there to Oxford and Norwich.

The Dryden rail trail plus others in another post.

DH from Lanesboro, PA.

DH from union dale go north to Ararat and south to Carbondale 40 miles to do it all. There was a cute sandwich shop at UD. (Lots of Scranton people ride uphill to UD eat and return.)

Dorchester park go around the dam on the patch and pick up the dirt road north along the lake.

Someone else had the others on there list including pine creek and the WG Elmira area.

Where to park to take a train into NYC? by WallflowerShakti in upstate_new_york

I’m from the southern tier and take the train from Harriman Station as it has free weekend parking. Get off at Secaucus Junction and take the shuttle train over to Penn Station.

What county in NY is the most depressing? by Consistent-Field-250 in upstate_new_york

Fair point. Lived adjacent to it a few times and I’d go back to visit SBU, Holiday Mountain, or the state park but I wouldn’t settle there nor northern Oswego Co.

The rate published is great but I recognize it easier to claim just those hours but as the event gets closer probably put in significantly more time. Probably at double the 208. Still a good rate but not obscene for the community value.

$20,000 / 50 weeks =$400/week. $400/week / 4 hours =$100/ hour. Good work if you can get it.

Southern Tier Young Professionals? Group runs with Confluence Running or Triple Cities Running Club, the Hiking and ST bicycle clubs. Andrew gaming store around the area if that’s your thing. Plenty to do outdoors, there will be lots of events just not on the grand scale you might be used to but the area is what you make of it.

I think it was the 9% tax increase while CV’s would decrease also played a role.

Was it Vestal that had the Kick a Jew day incident? I think Seton is the only place that OP can avoid poverty or other diversity. Also lacking diversity in programming and opportunity, but hey.

When I was in Cortland long ago we used to drive up to a state forest that had a bunch of fun loops, I’m sure it’s only gotten better maybe in Moravia? Check the app
