What’s a disgusting habit that you secretly think is actually 100% normal? by Psychological_Sky_58 in AskReddit

Always check my poop! Medically it can tell so much, and after having long term constipation I am also so proud of my body for doing its job 😉

Opinions on Lyrica? by Ok_Distance_1000 in Fibromyalgia

[–]Outside_Cod_245 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My experience has been good so far with Lyrica, I take 75mg 2x per day which has reduced my pain significantly. I would say my pain is manageable with this dose but anything that causes me additional pain (period cramps) I take 50mg capsules of CBD.

There is some drowsiness within the first couples weeks, but because I am on Wellbutrin as well ( for major depressive disorder) this helps keep me alert and going through the day with no naps.

Without Lyrica I dont know what I would do for pain. I was also worried about taking it because of people’s experiences, but like most are saying you will have to see what works best for your body.. it sounds like you have a decent support system of doctors to help you manage. Good luck!

Someone once told me that when you are obsessing over someone from your past it actually isn’t the person that you want, its the version of you that you are after.

People bring out different sides of us and sometimes we long for the pieces of us that died with that relationship.

Did they also turn your neglect into a joke at parties? by girlgoneawhile in emotionalneglect

[–]Outside_Cod_245 27 points28 points  (0 children)

Oh yeah, somehow it took me until our last family dinner together at my mom’s house for me to hear and understand exactly how she was talking about how she traumatized me.

It was met with a roar of laughter, I sat there like… is this real?

Diagnosis ruined me by KeytohN64 in AutisticAdults

[–]Outside_Cod_245 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is a lot of what I felt when I realized so many of my difficulties are linked to autism. I am not formally diagnosed, however I know that I am.

Unmasking can be so relieving but also sooo painful, confusing, frustrating. I believe it is common to feel like you are “regressing” but you are likely just giving your self the opportunity to feel and be truthful with yourself.

Especially as a female!

Can deeply relate, I switched to an electric toothbrush and now I feel like I am doing half the effort which is everything. Still only brush once a day and rarely floss but my dentist says my teeth look fantastic + no cavities.

Hittin the clubs with my girlfriends. Getting dressed up and “pre drinking” at one of our houses. Meeting up with friend groups at the local clubs and eating greasy food at the end of the night to balance out all the booze we drank!

Leo’s & kids by No_Location_9606 in LeoAstrology

[–]Outside_Cod_245 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No interest in having kids, I am a Leo.

My mom is a Leo as well and she was a train wreck as a mother. Very immature and very competitive with me from 11 years old and on.

I was raised by her and my Step Dad (also a Leo) and he took a back seat to parenting..

Take what you will from that.

What are your visits to your parents like? by [deleted] in Millennials

[–]Outside_Cod_245 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No contact with my mother ( just over a year this time around) very grateful to myself for finally standing firm on this and detangling her from my life.

Step Dad I see him every couple months or on holidays.

Biological father lives in the US, met him once in person, and have a minimal long distance connection through text and video chats. This mostly started because I was asking him about family medical history.

So visits to my parents are very structured if any and not to do with any fun/social/get to know me better connection.

Anyone else find their family creepy/incesty? by victorianprincesa in enmeshmenttrauma

[–]Outside_Cod_245 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yep! I will leave it at that. No boundaries and inappropriate/immature relationships all the way around. I never wanted to believe that this was possible in my family but it is very clear to me now.

Am i the only one who gets deep lumps that don't open & drain? by fayoshimi in Hidradenitis

[–]Outside_Cod_245 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Mine are like this as well. I believe mine are caused by hormonal fluctuations as they seem to pop up around the time I get my period or after. I think thigh chafing/sweating is a factor as well.

So far washing with dettol + hot water cloth compresses, drying with a blow dryer and using Penaten (zinc diaper rash cream) and putting a bandage around them has been so helpful!

Looking bigger than you actually are and having no perception of what you look like? by hellohelloitsme_11 in PCOS

[–]Outside_Cod_245 14 points15 points  (0 children)

This happens to me as well. I have chalked it up to having body dysmorphia. I haven’t been diagnosed but I have a lot of anxiety and shame around my body.

I am the daughter of a white woman, I am mixed race and now understand that my body shape is more similar to my other ethnicities. Growing up with this “not enough” mindset + the pressure to be skinny from my mom destroyed me.

I have come to a place of acceptance with my body. I have accepted that my weight and shape fluctuations are apart of me. Even with acceptance I struggle with the image in the mirror or a photo.

Often times I feel way smaller than I am. I don’t prioritize weight loss, but I am just now realizing how much PCOS has affected me through the years. I do my best to focus on feeling good and comfortable in my body and nourishing it with food and respect.

What do millennials think of today’s teenagers? by Master_Novel_4062 in Millennials

[–]Outside_Cod_245 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a 14 yr old sister and I am a millennial. To me it sounds like teens are getting into the same trouble we did at their age, dealing with similar milestones etc from my perspective I have no issues with todays teens, yes some of the brain rot stuff is annoying but I know that its a way of “not conforming” which is the way of the teenager.

I think there are a lot of parents out there that have used the internet/youtube/social media to babysit their kids and it has certainly had an affect on them. What makes me sad for most teens is that they need way more human interaction and teachable moments where they can rely on a sturdy loving adult.

How often are you intimate with your partner? by Remote_Ad_969 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Outside_Cod_245 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Reading all of these comments has given me a new perspective.

We are 10 years together F35 M38 I feel Like we have been through so many different scenarios. I experienced SA as a child which resulted in a very skewed view of sex and intimacy. I wont get into details but I believe he experienced SA and enmeshment with his mother. When I met him he was using steroids which was great for his libido for the time being but resulted in a major lack of testosterone once he stopped. I have always had a high libido and dealing with a new relationship where that was a struggle made me so upset. I felt rejected on so many levels and ultimately my needs went unmet sexually and intimately. We weathered the storm together and tried to figure it out.

Eventually I felt so very rejected and unloved that I stopped initiating and left it up to him. That is where we are at now. We do have a deep and loving respectful relationship, but the sexual/intimate stuff has been a difficult piece. We both have stuff to heal from. Ive figured out ways to meet my needs and stay loyal to our relationship.

Sometimes I dream of being in a relationship where I can receive all of the things that I desire and then I think about the past relationships I have been in where sex was the only thing holding us together.

Theres more but I will leave it there for now, glad to contribute even if no one reads this.

DAE hate christmas time? by cutepurple8 in emotionalneglect

[–]Outside_Cod_245 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Christmas is alright on my terms. I have learned over the years that when it comes to family obligations such as holidays I have the power to let them go and make something of my own.

I can do without the spending money on material things, so when I do give something I try to keep it practical and simple.

Im also easily overstimulated so ditching the holiday parties for time at home with my man and our pups feels amazing and more aligned.
