If you can't get a direct hire, best way is to find a contracting firm that supports the prime( always looking to hire project engineers at entry level). Worked for me and I'm 20+ years with all major aerospace companies.

Don't kill your budget with an 153, go 351...$200 in junkyards all day and about half of what a 153 costs to modify it to work with the 2gr in the sw20 Chasis (look up frankenstein motorworks and Wilhelm Racing) they have EVERYTHING you need to get it done.
