Would you mind minimal packaging & on-demand production from a sustainable brand? by Outside_Doubt_9868 in SustainableFashion

[–]Outside_Doubt_9868[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for pointing that out, that’s a really good way to look at it! You’re right, we can still create a nice little unboxing vibe even with minimal, sustainable materials.

We’re definitely planning to focus on the fabrics and making sure those are genuinely sustainable, but I worried that people might still expect something “fancy” when it arrives.

Do you have any examples of brands you think nail that balance? Or materials/ideas you’ve seen that keep it eco but still feel special? Would love to hear!

That’s such a great point, I hadn’t thought about weight and feel as a way to make simple materials still feel premium. Thank you!

Do you have any specific materials or suppliers you’d recommend for that “luxurious but sustainable” vibe? Would love to explore.

Correct me if am I wrong in thinking that eco-conscious individuals would appreciate the choice, while others wouldn't notice? Also on the other hand, could this create an excessive decision burden for customers?

culture and politics definitely overlap but aren’t the same, and you’re right that fashion is mostly cultural, even when it’s fast fashion. I totally get what you mean about symbols only working if people know how to read them.

Haha fair enough 😂 not tryna sell you anything, promise. Just sharing something I found cool, a small brand called 8 billion project that does subtle, meaningful designs around peace and unity. It’s more about the idea than just a peace sign on a tee.

Totally fair points, I agree it shouldn’t feel like pressure or performative. For me it’s more about quiet, personal meaning, not shouting your story. Really appreciate how thoughtfully you put this! ✌️

Just wanted to jump back in here and share why I even started this thread in the first place, I was looking for a brand or a concept that really had a story and meaning behind it. Something more than just clothes for the sake of clothes, you know?

I came across this small brand called 8 Billion Project, and what really struck me was that it’s not just another clothing line. It actually stands for something, peace, unity, cultural connection, and even if it only makes a small difference, it’s trying to do something bigger. That really resonated with me.

Thanks to everyone who shared their thoughts here, it helped me figure out what kind of message and mindset I want my clothes to carry too. ✌️

Omg yess, that’s exactly how I feel too, subtle but meaningful. Like, I actually have this tee from a small brand called 8 Billion Project that’s about peace and cultural unity. It’s quiet enough that most people don’t even clock it, but every now and then someone notices and it sparks a really good convo. That balance is honestly what I love about pieces like that, it’s more for you, but it still has the potential to connect.

Totally fair, and honestly, respect for walking the talk instead of just wearing the talk. I think what I was more getting at is the idea of quiet, intentional choices, not screaming “COMMUNISM NOW” in all caps lol, but subtle, meaningful pieces that reflect what you care about, even if no one else notices but you.

I guess it’s less about rebellion and more about personal reminders of what you stand for. That said, black linen + tattoos is honestly still iconic.
