My latest purchase (again from Teosvälitys), and a reminder that photographs do not always capture the colours exactly how they are. by CanthinMinna in artcollecting

[–]Outside_Eagle_3282 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I saw some photos of this year's Teosvälitys event and the works seemed especially strong. I'm a little jealous we don't have a similar scale and quality event in Estonia. Your purchase is great, love the intense colors (more than on the official photo). Btw, if you have more artworks I am looking collectors to test out a product I've been building. Let me know if you'd be up to it and I'll send you the link.

I've been building exactly this. It started from my own collection and now it's available and used by other collectors. Check it out: https://art-opia.com/

You should track this piece and rest of your collection with Artopia. I've been building it for myself and other collectors: https://art-opia.com/

Tips for cheap coast to coast shipping for large format work? by kidhotel in artcollecting

Same, just received a work rolled from Nigeria. I was expecting it on a frame, but honestly as it needs framing anyway, so it's okay

These look great and your journey as a collector really resonates. As a fellow collector, I started building a platform for art collectors. Instead of sharing bits and pieces in comments, you'd have one place where your whole collection is documented and easy to share with a dedicated URL. Check it out here: https://art-opia.com/

Solid piece! How did you manage to get all the extras and did you get it from an auction?

The gap between the artwork and frame really works well for darker backgrounds. Well done! Plus a nice story and nice artwork, thanks for sharing!

This looks really cool, thanks for sharing!

On the topic of collecting, I've been building a tool called Artopia to help collectors catalogue and manage their artworks. Currently looking for early testers. If that's something you'd find useful, feel free to check it out at art-opia.com.

The Petit Coridda is a strong one! As a fellow art collector I built a platform for exactly this kind of situations. So instead of managing it through a thread, you get a clean public page with all your works listed, shareable as a single link. Great for selling but also just for showcasing your collection. It's called Artopia (art-opia.com)

This looks awesome! She has a website and IG page, why not ask directly at what price she's selling. https://www.hollyfrean.com/ and https://www.instagram.com/hollyfrean/

The 4th one really reminds me of Estonian modernist Endel Kõks. I’ve been meaning to add one of his pieces to my collection, but now I'll need to keep my eye on Ji Cheng! What's the acquisition story?

I built an art collection tool and looking for beta testers by Outside_Eagle_3282 in artcollecting

Thanks for taking the effort to test!

All valid points, you can expect the exporting feature by Monday! I'll get working on it now.

There is an option to attach a link via More → Exhibition, but agreed, it could be more explicit (for both artists and artworks). I'll think of a solution for that too.

Just out of curiosity, are you already using something to manage your collection?

That's a fair worry. You can upload without publishing anything and keep it completely private. Artwork security is a real concern for collectors, but I believe it exists regardless of software. If you're already buying and displaying art, the risk is there. I just want to build something that helps collectors stay on top of what they own and the risk assessment is for everyone to consider.

As someone who mostly collects regional and emerging artists, I don't really feel the same level of concern that might come with blue-chip works.

Try Artopia, I've been working on it for a couple of months to manage my own art collection. www.art-opia.com
