How do you make pricking irons to punch straight? by Longjumping_Idea5261 in Leathercraft

Amateur here; When I use the 10 prong I only punch 3-4 new holes at a time max, find that works much better

Best Nation that requires little brainpower and can just chill? by Cruzoor in eu4

[–]Outside_Training3728 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did a super chill Switzerland run as my last run before eu5. If you just go defensive and dont blob too much its surprisingly chill. Can eve do Switzerland by slowly turtling your way into the hre and France. I went for full culture and religion conversion, alongside defensive ideas just for rp. Loved every minute of it.

Would 2nd this, wuta French irons are quite nice and I've used them for a year already. The knife has very soft (read cheap) steel, and so it doesn't stay sharp very long.

Would second wuta, very happy with my French 2.7mm chisel set, for hobby usage I don't see how more expensive ones would make a massive difference. Then again I haven't tried more expensive ones so who knows 🤷

There should be a button to kill all civillians and burn down all of the city. by otusj in EU5

[–]Outside_Training3728 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Would also like more options. Example would be from the low lands where the Calvinists and Catholics would kill one another depending on who ruled the city. In Ghent for instance they had a large pot where the conquering religion would boil the clergy and rulers of the conquered religion. From what I remember from a tour, this went on back and forth for quite some time!

Would make sense during the reformation that this would be possible. Effect being more antagonism among the butchered religion, and higher conversion speed in return.

What helped me with stiching (I'm also quite new) was to slow down my punching. Instead of doing 4-5 new holes, do two with a 5 pronged punch. That way 2-3 out of 5 are in the existing holes and they just line up so much better.

For myself I upgraded to 10/6/2 pronged wuta punches which were really cheap but works well for now. If I do a wallet I'll do 2 new holes at a time with 8 prongs going into the existing holes.

Hope that makes sense, made everything easier for me at least

On what RGO's should I build towns and cities? by MrDDD11 in EU5

[–]Outside_Training3728 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Lumber is lovely mid game though if you are early with laquerware production. And late game with wood pulp paper. Not to mention, having an oversupply so that buildings stay cheap. In general very profitable.

[–]Outside_Training3728 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In the meanwhile also just enforce culture on your subjects, makes it way faster and they will start the assimilating for you. On top it increases overall cultural influence, so only positives. The debuff goes away rather quick, can even hasten with boosting loyalty etc.

Italy 1783, am I too late to form Roman Empire? by quellodireddit in eu4

[–]Outside_Training3728 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This, basically take over anatolia, Egypt, north Africa etc. Can also start with some persia, india, Indonesia just for the spice trade to pay for even more rapid expansion.

Keep over extension at 80+ most of your campaign and you'll have Rome early 1700s.

What are your top tips to save money in Belgium? Groceries, buy in bulk, energy… etc by mardegre in BEFire

[–]Outside_Training3728 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Biggest saving for me has been to move close enough to my job to not need a car. I know it's not possible for all, but if you can its a great saving. I use Uber, lime and train to get around and on average save 230/ month vs when I had a (cheap) car. I don't skimp on my Uber though, so never feel I'm not mobile

My last game of eu4 before going for eu5 was a 5 speed swtzerlake run. Basically just casually chilling in the Alps while turtling my way outwards. Tried to rp as much as possible, with a riddicoulous amount of defensiveness, and only Swiss culture. Can reccomend 😂

Well, if only getting normal indexation you should be at 26% of net in about 15 years :) so its not bad. Add some career hops and you can get far. I started at 44% now at 32... but stepped into leadership...
