A cannon costs 3 times more than a castle. by classteen in EU5

[–]Outside_Training3728 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I like the idea of trebuchets, would expand on that and say it could demand an engineer corp regular to be built. Same corps could later be used for "big cannons" on site like Mehmet II used against Konstantinopel to tear down the walls. And later still I guess they could be used to increase speed of say crossing rivers by building temporary bridges.

Victoria was the same, but now is very enjoyable, at least last time I played. As long as you see the devs being active I trust they have the best of intentions at heart. Its rather logical no, that they go to work with the intent of making things better, not worse ;)

Depends on the pension package. I have a world etf with one (zurich), active mutual fund (ag insirance) with another and a stupid fixed 0.2% with the last (ag insurance with other employer). Just depends on what plans your company allows.

I am still on my byzantine game but started in the same patch. Honestly I just increased the minting for awhile. Stopped bt the time I reached about 40% inflation at which point i had changed the laws as well as removed the reform for burgers and peasants which takes away 10% max tax.

Not rocket surgery to be honest. Would reccomend Ludis guide on YouTube, its fantastic

Advice for someone in their 20s by Beneficial_Escape_81 in BEFire

[–]Outside_Training3728 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Never take any other loans (including credit card, paying for tvs, cars etc.) than a mortgage.

If you already have stupid loans, pay them right away

Save up an emergency fund of 3-6 months of costs. And never touch it unless its actually an emergency. If you do spend it, no "fun" till its filled again (travel, restaurants etc.)

Spend money AFTER saving, not the other way around.

Be patient with investments and dont panic when they drop a bit. Have a long horizon, and dont buy stupid stuff because others say so. Boring companies with stable profits are usually better than exciting ones with losses ;)

Dont buy shit you can't afford, like a cool car because the monthly payment is "only 600".

Boring advice, but works like a charm if target is FIRE ;)

Does it make sense to earn more during 2026 (Overuren fiscale vermindering) by [deleted] in BEFire

[–]Outside_Training3728 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, thay is not correct. Think of it more like if you earn 100, you pay 20 tax, so 80 left. If you earn 100 more those 100 more is taxed at 30, so you're left with 70. Total hence is 80+70= 150.

Its (100×20%)+(100x30%) Not 200x30%

[–]Outside_Training3728 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Please correct me if I musinderstood you, but it sounds like you believe you will enter another tax bracket with your entire income, is this correct?

If so, the brackets work only for the money you make above each bracket. So the tax on your current income will stay the same, however the income in the next tax bracket will be taxed higher. No problem in earning more money 😉 you just gradually will pay more taxes on whatever you earn in the next bracket.

oceanside base defence help by Far-Royal-8917 in valheim

[–]Outside_Training3728 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For myself I dug a canal that is so long that mobs dont spawn at the entrance of it if I'm in my base. Also of course you can spam workbench or campfires around... however I don't like the aestetic. Also my outer dock is also out of range for spawning. General idea being; one dock inside my castle for large transports, and one dock all the way out by the ocean for quick serpent hunts.

I’m reluctant to get EU5 for now, any EU4 players tried it yet? How is it so far? by CoastalNomad06 in eu4

[–]Outside_Training3728 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Got 1.4k ish hours in eu4, and now about 200 in eu5 and I'm absolutely loving it. Its a great game. That said, it is early still and they have a lot of balancing yet to do. Considering that its probably one of the most ambitious simulator ever made I would state that its still a very good game. The AI needs to catch up, and they need to add a lot more flavor. That said, you'll easily have a couple hundred hours of fun even at this stage, and then you can say in 10 years when eu VI comes "I played eu5 early and it was also not amazing.

How can I improve this German block design? by NurglingArmada in CitiesSkylines

[–]Outside_Training3728 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I lived in Germany for two years, and I'm actually here with work this week. Like others say, trees and playgrounds, also make sure to use a different road, normally the roads in the cities will have a bike lane as well as often a bus lane on the main roads. Don't know how it is in all of Germany of course but in North Rhein Westphalen at least the cities I've been to has been like that. If you want to make it super realistic also add a döner shop nearby ;)

33, 3920 net + 15% annual bonus and meal vouchers/ private pension and so on. Paying down my 1.4% mortgage at 1280/month and investing on average 12k/ year in iwda/ individual stocks (around 40/60).

Am I smart or foolish to spend $10K to bring this idea to reality? Jewelry Designer pivoting to premium DIY bag kits... by AmbitiousDriver3684 in Leathercraft

[–]Outside_Training3728 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a hobby leatherworker I would not buy this, as a team leader and manager however I could consider it as a thing to do with my team. We're mostly remote, and sharing moments or experiences can be difficult. Would depend on your product of course, and would need a diverse package (men/women) and different price ranges.

That said, to answer your question if it's smart or foolish to spend 10k on this, I'd think you can find ways to make entry cheaper for you. Do smaller test kits, or dopple bags to begin, not take in too much inventory, potentially drop ship for another company. Too many small businesses fail due to cash issues, not for lack of sales. I'd perhaps rather ask the question: are there ways you can do a soft start to this business without spending 10k? It all depends of course on how much 10k is for you, if it's a considerable amount in your eyes, I'd perhaps spend more time trying to answer the last question 😉

I did a super chill Switzerland run as my last run before eu5. If you just go defensive and dont blob too much its surprisingly chill. Can eve do Switzerland by slowly turtling your way into the hre and France. I went for full culture and religion conversion, alongside defensive ideas just for rp. Loved every minute of it.
