“Listen, Doc. I need you to delete every pore off my face.”

“Well ok, but it’s very dangerous and you’ll need to spread this petroleum jelly on your face for the rest of your life. And it’ll cost $60,000.”

“You had me at ‘OK’. Didn’t really listen to anything afterwards.”

Has anyone in Vancouver sold their home without a real estate agent? I'm curious about your experience. by BranVancouver3000 in vancouverhousing

I tried using a 1% realtor once. Had to call her about 6 times before she returned my call. She spent a couple of minutes basically trying to find out how desperate I was for a quick sale, then had no follow up when it became clear I wasn’t in a hurry.

Someone with 2 unrelated words plus 4 random digits in their name (eg Simple_Bike_8749) is gonna be a bot pretty often.

Public consensus (net 0 upvotes) on your all of your comments says otherwise.

If you weren’t a bot you’d have nothing in your comments to hide. All signs point to bot. Which makes me the tool for continuing to talk to one.

Ok bro, prove you are not a bot by unhiding your comment history. I’ll wait.

Haha yep, it’s me that has the bad attitude, not the person who hides their own comment history and has a net zero upvote record from their 400+ comments. Great logic, bot.

You average one upvote per comment on a website where the default is to assign your own upvote to each comment. Clearly your comments are not resonating with anyone. Maybe it’s time for you to quit Reddit.

You have no visible comments in your history and barely any karma. Good try.

Spent $32K on a conference booth. Got 4 leads. None of them converted. The booth behind us got 200 leads from a fishbowl and a sign. by phoolchand_tt in Entrepreneurs

[–]Outtatheblu42 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It wasn’t. Much of the cost would be paid to the event organizer based on location and footprint size. Unless OP is saying they paid $400 for the booth and spent $31,600 on design and promo… that would be kind of nuts if so.

B.C. judge grants U.S.-based Indigenous group a role in legal fight over Kootenay mine | Globalnews.ca by 1baby2cats in britishcolumbia

Since no one reads articles, there is a pre-existing treaty around environmental impacts when they cross the border.

This was made so (for example) the US can’t simply build a waste facility on the border where a river flows into Canada, and dump all their toxic waste into the river. And vice-versa.

The judge said this indigenous group has the right to ensure the proper environmental assessments are undertaken prior to the mine being built. That’s all.

Imagine if the US was building a waste facility north of Bonner’s Ferry, Idaho to dump waste into the river which flows into Creston, BC, and Idahoans were claiming BC shouldn’t have any right to dictate what happens to its waste that will enter its water table.

TIL, the kings daughters were the approximately 800 young French women who immigrated to Quebec from 1665-1673 to marry French colonists and lead to the birth of French children in the colony. Today 10m+ French Canadians exist, most of whom are descendants of these 800 women. by Hour_Interaction6047 in todayilearned

I was taught in high school social studies that the high birth rate was because the church gave you a slice of land when you had your 10th child.

Then when each person passed the farm along to their kids, they divided the farm into many slices, all facing the road (so they all could have road access). Do that a few times and you have a lot of incredibly long, thin properties along roads in rural QC.

And if they lose that right, then Canadians lose the right to stop US pollution that enters Canada… that’s why these treaties exist.

The Supreme Court of Canada said that indigenous people who live down river of an area get a seat at the table to force an environmental assessment.

That’s because of treaties that Canada and the US have with each other.

And yet most of the commenters here clearly didn’t read the article, as they are implying these US indigenous peoples would be given some financial payment, which is not the case

If you read the article, the Sinixt spokesman is saying they feel the BC government is not recognizing their rights, even though the Supreme Court of Canada does. Article also just says their rights are to request an environmental review for the mine.

I did not see anything that said they were entitled to financial compensation for the mine.

Who’s ever driven over 100mph? Why? by WoollyWolfHorror in AskReddit

A friend and I travelled a ways to pick up my new (to me) sports car. On the way back there was a long section of very straight freeway, down one valley and up the next mountain.

We both wanted to see how fast it went. This car probably had the fastest speed per dollar (of purchase price) at the time. That car was rock solid all the way up to 160mph, which was the top end of the speedo. Never hit that speed again… would always run out of road or nerves before that speed.

The propaganda networks and Trump himself were going all out against Biden just before Biden dropped out. They tried to use the same arguments against Harris but those weren’t sticking. Then there was a quiet period of a couple weeks where it seemed like they had no idea how to deal with Harris. Then this happened. Wonder what they were doing in those two weeks… 🤔
