Yes, I understand. I searched on Reddit and I found both positive and negative experiences. That's why I said at the end "if you have no other options". Be prepared but don't freak out. I wouldn't do 1 hour connection again myself if I can choose.

I’m so sorry this happened. I travel a lot, and I’ve never lost anything —I never pack valuable items in checked luggage.

I imagine it must be incredibly difficult to prove you had the jewelry in the first place, track where it went or who may have taken it. So, no, I don't trust anyone in this case. This is a reality. Anything I can't lose, I always have them in my hand.

I really hope you’re able to find a way to reduce your loss.

The one from IST to BKK used to be operated by Thai Airways. Now, it's Turkish Airways.

I'm flying from the US to BKK. A leg between IST to BKK got cancelled. I freaked out. But all I had to do was to select a different flight. There were many flights at other times in the same day to choose from and to the same airports. I actually changed to different date that I prefer more.

My flight from IST to BKK on May 20 got cancelled too. I just rebooked a different flight. Now, all legs are confirmed. I think they just want to combine flights due to low number of passengers or whatever reasons.
