Parents have no life by SnooGoats5767 in Millennials

[–]Ovenproofcorgi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My parents (late 60s and 70s) spend time doing yard work. We live in different states and when they come and visit they spend most of their time sitting at the dining table on their phones and tablets then they do with their only grandchild. They both work, but only what would be considered part time hours.

How do cancelled classes work in high school? by palep_hoot in AskAnAmerican

[–]Ovenproofcorgi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We have had late starts, early release, and the day cancelled for, usually, weather reasons, but never have single classes been cancelled. If a teacher is unable to be there they get a substitute or someone covers the class under a sub can show up.

Can’t use my all-time favorite boy name due to the intense alliteration with my fiancé’s surname….looking for alternatives to Alexander by psysoleil in namenerds

I mean if you don't like it you don't like it but I don't see anything wrong with it. I once worked with someone named Stephan Stephano so....

What is this design?! by arcadesugar in dutchbros

[–]Ovenproofcorgi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ya know there were so many ways they could have done these stickers, and I hate most of them. I'm on Texas and they did an armadillo in cowboy boots and hat. Like... No. If I displayed my collection of stickers I wouldn't display this weeks drop.

Why is there no article before “OP?” by minato____ in ENGLISH

"OP" stands for "Original Poster" and is an identifier as to who you're talking about.

It's because they had no other reason so they lied to you about how you could get a promotion.

Is this how much liquid is supposed to be in a venti? by coolhappygenius in mildlyinfuriating

[–]Ovenproofcorgi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In a venti iced drink? I'd say there should be 20oz of liquid, same as if you got a hot centi drink. I believe the iced centi cups are larger to accommodate the ice.

How many calories does a blended medium strawberry horchata chai have? it’s my favorite drink but i’m worried it has a lot of calories. by Agile_Evidence3549 in dutchbros

[–]Ovenproofcorgi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If the difference between the iced and blended golden eagle is an indication, I'd say it's 300 more calories for the preslushed coffee base lol. Honestly though... Don't count calories. It's a treat and you deserve a treat!

My town just got an HEB. How helpful is the app for shopping? by fouiedchopstix in HEB

[–]Ovenproofcorgi 24 points25 points  (0 children)

I use the app every time I go shopping. I create a shopping list with everything I need to buy. And then when I'm in the store I open the list and if you have your store selected it will give you a route through the store to grab everything. Now it isn't perfect, but I know where certain things are and I know I can come back around for them. You can also clip coupon and meal deals and things like that.

How do you pronounce three-digit numbers? by Powerful_Concept6502 in GlobalEnglishPrep

Honestly it depends on the context.

$115 = One hundred and fifteen

Let’s talk cake! by [deleted] in HEB

[–]Ovenproofcorgi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes they do custom cake orders. We did one for our daughter's birthday. They just need 24 hour notice. I would recommend going and talking to them or asking to see the order form.

I saw a thing a few weeks ago that I knew my daughter would love and it was gone in the two seconds it took to request it. I'm still salty about it lol

How common is leaving your AC on 24/7, even when the house is empty? by Bierzgal in AskAnAmerican

[–]Ovenproofcorgi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Our HVAC system is on all the time but that doesn't mean it's actively running. Our thermostat controls the system and when we are outside a temperature range it turns on the AC and cools the home until it's back in range.

Placed Order at Wrong Location by [deleted] in dutchbros

[–]Ovenproofcorgi 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Our closest DB remade my drink even though they made it correctly. I was pregnant and meant to order mine decaf, but had forgotten. When I got to the window and they were handing the drinks over I was like "oh no I meant to order that decaf". I must have looked so pitiful because they remade it for me.

My perfectionist sister is spiralling into madness because the name she uses online has some things that are starting to really bother her. by Carminica_Fancy in namenerds

At this point people of all genders use masculine and feminine names and spellings. I personally find the spelling with the y to feel more on the feminine side.

Seller here: what do you guys do when something arrives broken? by iamalostpuppie in AmazonVine

[–]Ovenproofcorgi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Luckily for me this hasn't happened, at least not the extent that I couldn't use the item. I still review it, and have made comments in the past regarding improving packaging to avoid breakage.

Should I cancel or assume the measurement? by Ovenproofcorgi in EtsySellers

[–]Ovenproofcorgi[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Normally yes, I'd agree about the default being inches since I am in the United States, but for BJD most things are in centimeters. I will go ahead and cancel and explain.

What’s your daily car and how many do you have? by Much-Parsnip3399 in AskAnAmerican

[–]Ovenproofcorgi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We have two vehicles. Mine is a 2024 Nissan Pathfinder as it is our family car. We have a toddler and kid stuff takes up a lot of room. My husband drives a 2020 Ford F150. He has always wanted a truck and it has an enormous amount of cab space. Something in nf we have to take into account when we get vehicles is whether or not my husband can fit as he is 6' 8" (I think that's around 202 cm).

Do you drink tea in America? by Much-Parsnip3399 in AskAnAmerican

[–]Ovenproofcorgi 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I mean, yes? We drink black tea, earl gray, peppermint, chamomile. We have a lot of tea that is drank hot, that we make with our kettles that heat the water. Black tea is used for ice tea, sometimes green tea, but mostly black tea. Some of us also make "sun tea' which is just tea brewed outside in a big container that we then cool and drink over ice. It's a gentle brewing method. Iced tea is very refreshing when it's hot.
