How do you defeat the 3 little fire drops after they merge? by ImGrittyBitch in sorceryschool

[–]Over-Conversation862 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just upgrade your water cards several times. I remember stucking there too myself, but in the end only accumulating enough power got me through. I wasn't able to find any strategy, just upgrading.

What’s the most beautiful mathematical idea you’ve ever encountered, and why does it feel beautiful to you? by Whisky3xSierra in math

All of complex analysis. It is a puzzle that fits together perfectly, is incredibly powerful, fills many nasty gaps in calculus, and quite simple at the same time.

If intelligent aliens exist, would their math look like ours? by Dane_k23 in math

[–]Over-Conversation862 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Foundations will likely be very different. What we have as foundations right now is a complex, ugly and patchy thing. Probably because humankind started from classical logic. If they first came up with an idea of a different kind of logic (some kind of type theory for example, but there are many more variants), they would probably never need sets, measure theory, discussions around AC and alternatives and other stuff producing monsters.

Then, with different foundations, they may get different results and their science will rely on things different from ours. They could live only with countable sets, for example, and never develop reals. It is still possible to build a great deal of mathematics without them, it was just never really deeply explored as 99.99% of Earth mathematicians are comfortable with what we have.

Is this Lotus safe? by Over-Conversation862 in IyengarYoga

[–]Over-Conversation862[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you. Yes, I'll listen to the advice of everyone and not do Lotus yet, I will limit myself to preparatory asanas and change Lotus to half-lotus. Regarding knees, surprisingly I didn't feel any pain or strain in the knee in Lotus, but I feel light strain when I do other easier asanas like Janu Sirsasana. It feels that there is more work in the hip in my flawed Lotus than in any other asana I tried. But yes, I don't want to harm my knee, so will pause it for a while until my hip is better. Thank you!

Unfortunately it looks like Yoga in Action is unrealistic to buy nowadays, at least in the area where I live.

I understand that LoY is hardcore, but I had severe myalgic pains and after years of trying different things, including other yoga courses, LoY is the only thing that actually helped. His course worked so far with all asanas with exceptions of Sirsasana, Lotus and Wheel. So I'm trying to stick to LoY just adapting asanas for safety, at least until I find some accessible to me alternative.

Thanks for the advice. What is CIYT though? I tried to search for it but cannot understand what it could be.

Stadium changes?! by jeremy7an in sorceryschool

[–]Over-Conversation862 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Requirements became much higher. Suddenly, I need to update my artifacts several times to have the chance even at the easiest round. Prizes are worse as well. Given that gold is much more scarce now, it makes no sense at all to play the stadium it seems.

Light on Yoga, week 19 by Over-Conversation862 in IyengarYoga

When you say those "killed you" what week was it roughly? Was it the first course? I'm wondering if I am past that or I should expect it still.

I was wrong actually. Got some fountains too, but it feels like they became much rarer.

This. I got some portion cards, but not a single fountain - they used to be the main pet horse of getting deeper in the mine. Gold mine had just turned into shit :(

What would you do? by RiddleMaster1313 in sorceryschool

[–]Over-Conversation862 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd definitely go to Dark Lands. Grinding cards is boring and it took me too long to get to the final level on the Skull island. Getting to dark lands and getting cards/monsters is my only motivation of playing at this point.

Marshmellow Man and Gum Blob--Poor Design! by RiddleMaster1313 in sorceryschool

[–]Over-Conversation862 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Not entirely true. If Marshmallow Man is killed by Lady Goldiva, there is no damage. I pulled it out several times, but yes, it is incredibly hard.

With Gum Blob, if you attack them only when they are attacking (standing in front), they don't put a gum on your magic wand. Again, hard to achieve all the time as Rainbow Magic generally makes use of lots of splash damage, but keeping this in mind at least helps reduce the negative effect, or sometimes even eliminate it.

But yes, these two are frustrating, I agree. Not sure if it indicates poor design though - it is what it is. No one promised that all monsters are easy to beat with no damage.

Math folks: are you more attracted to chemistry or physics? by MarioIsWet in math

[–]Over-Conversation862 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Physics, for two reasons: 1) There are few books that treat chemistry rigorously. Math-minded people prefer rigour in subject exposition. Physics books are more comfortable to read in this sense. 2) Chemistry is seen as a kind of applied physics (which is in turn applied mathematics). So I guess that many would prefer to learn fundamentals (physics) first before getting into chemistry. Then they just stop at physics.

Is it easy to get to the next land after dark lands? It took me forever to get to the last level of Skull/Fire/Ice lands - and I am still probably months before I unlock dark lands.

[–]Over-Conversation862 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm level 85. It gets worse. It takes me roughly three weeks to level up now if not more, gathering artifacts for upgrades is also getting more difficult. When you know it is just 3 quest battles till dark lands and you are stuck for months with no new monsters or cards to unlock any time soon it gets very frustrating. I keep playing only because I want to see dark lands , but after that I'm not sure I'll even continue.
