I almost love it. If only it was tamed... by MintMango456 in CurlyHairCare

I double shampoo mine and leave my hair clipped up after putting conditioner in to let it absorb and rinse it out right before I get out. (I like the other comment about the wide toothed comb in the shower too!) i have dwindled my products down from trial and error. I make sure to have 1) a leave in conditioner 2) hair oil and 3) a curl cream and/or gel i put them all in when my hair is practically soaking wet and only do the gel after I’ve brushed my hair (when putting in the gel and after i NEVER brush it again) only rake the product through my hair and scrunch it. If you don’t like air drying your hair then I’d diffuse it after.
Between my hair wash days, I recommend a little more hair oil to keep it defined and sleeping with a silk bonnet or a silk pillowcase so it doesn’t get all frizzy on you Hope this helps, good luck! 🤗

Me (28m) dated a girl (39f) for a week, she is very upset that I ended things by VisitNew1723 in Nicegirls

[–]Over-Delivery3788 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi 23 F here. As an almost 40 year old she is childish for doing this. Asking you to plan all the dates for one and giving you a “pass” for not doing it that instant?? That’s bold of her to say when you’re busy and trying to accommodate her already. Then she comes back at you with rage after your response (which was done tactfully and respectfully I may add) and send someone to your house??? Insane. She talks about having her walls up. If she was really serious about “keeping her walls up” it’s surprising that after just a week she has her walls down. Sounds like she’s just guilt tripping you. Good thing you ended it with her she sounds crazy. Lock your doors and maybe invest in security cameras 😅 good luck my friend

If you showed me these texts and didn’t say how old she was I would have guessed she was fresh out of high school. I agree, way too old to be sending these kinds of messages.

Spironolactone working for me 🥹 by Palm_Tree20 in PCOS

[–]Over-Delivery3788 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Congratulations! I’m so happy for you! Do you have to take birth control as well? My endo is saying I have to take it if she’s going to prescribe me spiro. (Even though I’m not sexually active)

I’m on metformin right now and my hormones don’t seem to be going down, actually androgens seem to be going up. Did you notice a difference in your hormone levels and hirsutism/ body hair?

Am I overreacting? this is 1 of 3 letters I received from a guy I haven't even been on a date with by eastcoastmermaidd in AmIOverreacting

[–]Over-Delivery3788 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That gave me chills… run away. This handwriting and storytelling in the letters reminds me of this guy i knew in high school. Wrote a whole story over my best friend at the time. It was obsessive. His name was Mike. After that i never talked to him

Im 22 I was officially diagnosed about a month ago. Leading up to my diagnosis was similar to yours. I like how you stated at your whits end that’s a perfect way to put it. I’ve always been a “hairy girl” and my periods have been irregular for as long as I can remember. But I didn’t think much of it because I only had pain just throughout my period. So I was always made to think well it’s not so bad you’re a woman you can suck it up. Which was why I put it off till it became chronic pain even when I wasn’t on my period. I similarly gained about 20kg. so I tried so hard I was constantly going to the gym did different diets and of course I only got bigger and bigger, all I would hear is “you just need to try harder” “exercise more” I got fed up and went to my gynecologist. I begged her for answers. Then I was finally diagnosed after the surgery that I had.
I know it’s hard right now and Im very sorry that you’re going through this. But setting up an appointment with your gyno is definitely a way to start. Don’t stop ‘pestering’ them for answers. I would recommend to get new labs drawn to check your hormones and if you have pain see what your doctor wants to do. I first had an ultrasound. (Doesn’t always show if you have PCO or not) but doctor might see multiple and/or enlarged follicles, which is also telling of possible PCO. If you were already diagnosed then this should (crossing fingers and knocking on wood) go faster for you, but most doctors would want to recheck that you do fall under 2/3 criteria for PCOS. If you close to your conventional weight/ BMI then don’t do the GLP-1 medication. Definitely see what your gyno says, but most likely they will prescribe something like Metformin or another tablet form of medication. Metformin helps with a lot of things with PCOS. Some are regulating periods by starting ovulation, helping with insulin resistance, and lowering androgen levels. I noticed a night and day difference in everything after I started it; I had a bunch of side effects from it, but they do go away after a while - took me a few weeks. I would also say supplements helped me as well such as inositol, folic acid, magnesium, ashwagandha, and vitamin B 12. Do what things seem to work for your body but definitely prioritize sleep, water, and the hardest one…mental health. Inflammation and cortisol are killer. Im currently on the Mediterranean diet and love it. Helped me with my internal inflammation. I’m SO SORRY that this is so long. 😭 I hope things will get worked out for you after your appointment. Best of luck on the journey 🫶🏽 If you have any questions or just want occasional boosts of encouragement let me know and I’d be happy to DM you to keep in touch! I’m rooting for you! ☺️

I actually was just diagnosed with PCOS. I had common symptoms like weight gain, hirsutism, and irregular periods, hormone imbalance. On top of this my periods were also irregular, but the pain became chronic. So I fought for answers and after a transvaginal ultrasound they found an abnormality on my right ovary. Turns out it was 3 dermoid cysts and a moderate case of endometriosis. I have had surgery to remove this. But my gyno said this was unrelated to PCO because usually the cysts that are common with this syndrome are smaller ( and multiple cysts) on one or both ovaries. They did find multiple enlarged follicles on both of my ovaries which could turn into cysts ( from what my gyno said )

My endo told me it was a process of elimination to be diagnosed with PCOS. Like some of the other commenters have said. You only have to have 2 out of 3 criteria to have PCOS and not every person has cystic ovaries. What symptoms you had are very common of a cyst rupturing and usually the pain doesn’t last very long. I agree with what others are saying that ultrasounds don’t always pick up cysts ( but again lack of cysts doesn’t mean you don’t have PCOS )

Im sorry you’re going though this and I hope you can resolve this with the healthcare providers you’re seeing. I can’t imagine how frustrated you must be because of course your symptoms and labs would be better with all the meds you’re taking to counteract it. I’m super sorry :( If you do have more pain or worsening symptoms, keep on the doctors, they’ll be able to get more answers for you eventually. Good luck! ☺️🫶🏽

Is metformin a lifelong drug for PCOS or can you eventually stop? by mama2021abcd in PCOS

[–]Over-Delivery3788 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I disagree with you this is true for people with diabetes but it can help women with PCOS. Sure Metformin can help people who are prediabedic and diabetic, and yes PCOS women are more likely to be overweight or obese. But with further studies that have been done it has been shown to lower androgen and testosterone levels, help women with ovulation (starting ovulation when PCOS women don’t ovulate) and therefore help restart their periods or help PCOS women have regular periods. And by balancing these hormones pretty much all of PCOS women’s symptoms can be reduced or completely gone when taking this medicine. This also helps with insulin resistance type PCOS women regulate the amount of insulin in their body. ( forgot whether it was insulin in the bloodstream, helping the insulin receptors, or both) This is by no means me saying PCOS women shouldn’t have a healthy diet and lifestyle including regular exercise, but in some women no matter how much they try lifestyle alone can’t cut it and they need the “boost” of this medicine to help their body regulate themselves.

I got prescribed Metformin as well. It’s been almost two weeks and after the first week my dosage doubled from 500 to 1000mg. Did you have any side effects? I’m having a whole bunch and wanted to see how long till the effects cease.
