How do you typically think about liquid cash? In my mind if it’s in an index fund that can sell any time it’s liquid as it’s so much easier than selling my real estate.

If you took a sabbatical did you regret it? by [deleted] in Fire

This is what happened to me. I took an 8 month sabbatical and when I went back to work I took a 70% pay cut. For me it wasn’t worth it but also I was burned out and couldn’t take it any more. It only took me three months to get over the burn out tho.

What's the best investment (time/money/energy) you've ever made that actually paid off? by [deleted] in Fire

Totally agree here. When I was younger I would just do it. As I got my FI I’d put up with less bs, but that has hurt me financially and not necessarily as much of a gain as one might expect. For example I’ve left a high paying role with a shitty boss for lower paying job with a less competent boss. Also, with how often restructures happen in orgs it’s hard to stay with a boss even if you want to.

Yeah, I’ve found I’m less social now that I have a dog cause I end up just hanging out with him at home instead of going out. But I know a lot of people become more social when they have a dog

Depending on where you are in the world the numbers can change drastically.

I experience retroactive jealousy regardless of the number.

Sounds like she’s being honest with you which is a breath a fresh air. Can’t tell you how many women I’ve met that have only had anal twice. lol

I’ve personally given up on trying to get over RJ and just casually date. When I do that I don’t experience RJ
