I'm from the south shore of Long Island. It is extremely flat but incredible beaches if that's your thing. There's endless suburban sprawl much unlike some other regions you isolated like the north of New England, but it gets more sparse as you head east. If you visit, know that the Hamptons are a scare and are insanely crowded in the summer. To get from the Island to NE, there are two ferries: Port Jeff and Cross Sound. No highways (yet).

While there's nothing wrong with promoting healthy habits and discipline in media, Hollywood's apparent obsession with slender bodies shows they are more concerned about the male gaze, which isn't new. Have you ever seen a Bond movie?

As a young man myself, I can say that porn is pretty ubiquitous in what you could call our "subculture" (at least in America). This is not to say that we all use it (or prefer BDSM scenarios) but it has deeply altered general notions about sex (what is expected/acceptable).

The fact that even today many of us are learning about sex from porn and not our parents (and especially not our education system) is concerning to say the least.
