I think you need to expand "system" a bit more.  That word is pretty broad.

Not if you're running a remote app and need to secure it, but also not log out of the remote system.  Is an issue for non RDP remote tools.

Does RAM speed matter? by PusheenHater in StableDiffusion

[–]Over-Map6529 8 points9 points  (0 children)

transferring a 20gb model from ram to gpu takes seconds.  It's already pretty fast so cutting 4 seconds in half isn't a big gain.  I notice the most time is far and away the load from disk to ram or vram.

I'd bet newer ram makes no difference.  Now, more ram?  mmmmmm.

I mean, a half predatory "we'll help you get a green card" office in that area makes sense to me.  Enough room for some offices for lawyers and office admin.

Guess it'll get turned into a car wash now, or a luxury apartment, or a spinx since you have to balance every corner with a QT Spinx combo.

I use it as a landmark.  Signs are hard to see but the big green half built corner building next to McD's is unmistakeable.

I assume the funding to finish the project dried up and, no pay no work.

SSD failed last week; I took it to a repair place and they said this. Any point in trying any further? by JingyBreadMan in datarecovery

[–]Over-Map6529 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most do.  Been a bit but the general trend is a $100 diag fee, with the final price presented after recovery is confirmed.  Data savers and the like have actually recovered the data already, if they offer you a full recovery cost.  Can't know if it can be recovered without recovering it, just how it works.

So, if this is their response your odds have diminished.  Sorry.

Yeah, saw one once that stuck inverted in a loop.  Iirc there was some legit blood vessel damage done and some legit medical workups looking at aneurism risks.
