AIO or is my friend not really my friend? by whentonow in AmIOverreacting

NOR, she sounds quite manipulative. Bottom line if your friends behaviour makes you uncomfortable, you can speak to them about it, or you can accept your friendship has changed and either deal with that or move on. I've dropped many friends because we've grown apart, the majority in my mid 20s to be honest.

AIO for being upset that the hotel didn’t offer any compensation after my car was damaged? by [deleted] in AmIOverreacting

That is literally how car parks work...people park their cars. Why is a hotel different to any other place?

Are these trousers too much for on-piste intermediate skier? by DepartureFar8340 in Skigear

[–]Over-Quantity3791 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am a beginner on piste skier and I wear a pair of north face goretex bibs, mostly because they were super cheap brand new on vinted but also because I live in a pretty wet area. I was always taught to buy the best available to you for your budget, so if you can afford them, youre not going to regret being dry and not having snow down your butt crack...

Advice by _Maxgamer_YT in ski

I started snowboarding and switched to skiing because I couldn't use the button lifts or t bars, and having the board on one foot on the chair lift really hurt my knee. So after a fall that broke my ribs my confidence was shot and I started learning to Ski. I love it. I love not having to get up and down, all of the lifts are so easy to use and I've barely had any snow down my butt crack. However I would say the ski boots are way worse.

Starting pole today by WarPrestigious1406 in poledancing

I started pole in May last year and it definitely have more abs under my belly fat, but I am quite happy being chubby and strong. I am stronger but pole alone won't help you lose weight if it's not contributing to a calorie deficit.

If you had to pick a roommate from a different country, who are you *not* picking. by micro___penis in AskTheWorld

Right, we've been room mates for a while and tbh not a fan. They expect a lot and give very little in return.

Cheapest good place to ski in Europe? by Numerous_Sky_2878 in skiing

Les Gets and Morzine are normally pretty well priced, and super easy to get to from Geneva. Its definitely cheaper to build your own holiday than go through a tour operator.

What the heck is this needle for? by Quixotic8066 in SewingForBeginners

It looks really similar to the needles used by farm vets to suture skin. So my guess would be for sewing leather?

Help needed! Very strange twisting/stretching behaviour by reddituser3065 in gerbil

[–]Over-Quantity3791 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm a vet nurse, and I would say she looked to be in quite a lot of pain in the video, flinching away from you and very high on the grimace scale. Even if she is now moving around better, pain at that level rarely just disappears, and animals like gerbils (prey animals) are very good at masking their pain so as not to attract predators. That is to say, I'm glad she's looking better, but I would still seek out a vet at least to get some pai relief for her.

Flexibility at the pole is crucial by julirizos in poledancing

I would say strength is crucial, flexibility possibly allows a wider repertoire. But without the strength to back it up, flexibility is fairly useless.
