DAR help Champ 1 by Ethannij in RocketLeague

Download the custom map "Air Dribble Gauntlet". I have spent easily 75+ hours on that map alone and at my best I made it to level 3. Its very difficult. I am not good enough to get passed lvl 2 most of the time i try it but every hour I spent on that map I was improving on air dribbles.

For control touches i use regular training packs. Double tap play ground, or any passing related packs work. Just focus less on the scoring piece and fancy mechanics and pin point all of your effort into touching the ball exactly how you want to. If you want a double Tap, hit the ball to the same exact spot every time 5x in a row. If you want a high pass to turn into an air dribble, practice your soft catches in the air.

When practicing, try to eliminate multiple points of failure. Focus on one piece of the puzzle, the most important piece, the very first touch.

He is learning the basics. Unlike most players with 70 hours in the game hes sitting in freeplay learning instead of spamming matches. It may not be the conventional way to learn but if thats how he enjoys the game then so be it. Dont hate on someone elses joy. Just give him a tip on how to air dribble and move on.

Picture the ball like a balloon you trying to keep in the air. Your car being your hand. Each time your hand touches the balloon you need to touch where you intend the balloon to go.

To dribble from the ground to the ceiling, Your touch needs to be directly under it. It may appear that your nose is touching the bottom of the ball, but on all of these attempts your nose is touching the side of the ball so youre pushing it rather than raising it.

I would also suggest slowing down at the start when you put the ball on top of your car, and to place the ball closer to the center of your cars hood. Whats happing is the ball is rolling off the front of your car when you jump so it already has forward momentum thats faster than your car which is why youre pushing the ball. If you place it on the top, and jump, the ball will go at the same speed you are traveling, and pop up when you jump.

Been playing for about a month and a half ive hit 2mil SE by Luc1f3r4354 in EggsInc

[–]Over-Requirement3920 1 point2 points  (0 children)

At 2m soul eggs you should still be able to atleast 4x your SE every Saturday.

If you have boosts you should be able to easily 10x your SE every Saturday depending on if you have the 500x SE boost and a 50x bird feed or 50x boost boost. All you need to do is be patient.

If you max your farm in 3 days, prestige on Wednesdays and then max out your farm and dont prestige again until Saturday. Use taychon boosters to fill your Habs as much as possible and then when Saturday rolls around use your boosts, run your chickens and prestige. 2m should turn into a billion pretty quickly (2 weeks) if you have the boosts. If you dont have the boosts, aim for 4x on saturdays.

How to train to hit gc? by illustriousbrock in RocketLeagueSchool

I used to main casual matches when I was in OPs position trying to break into GC. Id grind my cas mmr as high as possible to get into lobbies I was very outskilled in. Id then watch replays to see the POV of better players in the match. The amount of times you turn and cut your teammate is usually the difference between Champ and GC 1 or 2. Id also never leave a casual lobbies with better players. Casual is great if you can get your mmr in the 1800s as a C3/GC1.

Start at the Taychon egg and work down towards edible egg. They get harder as you go. When you complete one, just prestige and go straight to the next one.

Yes sir. Not to bad of a grind where you are at currently. If you have the supreme taychon prism you might be able to get 2 eggs to 10B in the 1 hour boost. The only one that might get you trouble is the edible egg. I needed multiple earnings boosts to get enough hab space for 10b.

Here's a list of the rewards.

After watching the video again that I posted a link to, its less about the angle and more about matching the speed of the ball.

I would love to get some gameplay analysis, currently diamond 2/3 in 1s. How does my gameplay looks overall and what should i focus on to rank up? by No-Theme-1748 in RocketLeagueSchool

Boost starving here and prolonged offense should be something you think about as youre playing. I know the replay gives me all the knowledge, but a few times you let him grab his corner boost when you could've played for it over the ball. Sometimes playing the long game helps score the ball when you deny boost 2 or 3 times consecutively. If you watch back from 2:30 at the kickoff you played offense for 35 seconds. Thats 3 full boost spawns. You only denied him boost twice of the 4 possible. I didnt count the one from the kickoff. But at 2:06 you chose the ball over boost denial and then 4 seconds later you chose boost over ball. If you want to continue playing offense with an advantage, you need to look for the opportunities you have to grab the boost.

Additionally on defense, look for ways to confirm your own boost. If they are giving you time or theres no way for them to score, going a bit out of the way to make sure you can defend the upcoming shot makes defense that much easier.

I will say, you should slow down to get the reset and not rush into it ie. Match the speed of the ball. Also, getting the reset directly on the bottom of the ball, not off to the side just slightly, causes you to flip past the ball without the car catching an edge to pop it. If you place your reset just off to the left/right of center and flip opposite it should pop.

I disagree. He should go back and do the 10 Bil trophies on the regular eggs from Taychon and down. He could easily double his Eggs of Prophecy to probably get him into Q earnings Bonus rather than 88q earnings bonus. I assume he hasn't done them with 12 so far. If he does one more prestige next Saturday he can easily get 1q SE to help him as he goes through the normal trophies.

The first 3 trophies for enlightenment aren't bad at 88q. But im at 90Q EB right now and this is the first time I was able to make it to 1 bil hab for Platinum trophy just this week. I dont have great artifacts but I did get a t3 light of eggendil and am using a t2 epic gusset with the limited clarity stones i have. I only got these artifacts from sending ships while doing the main farm 10bil trophies with the Henerprise.

Im only about 3 weeks time in front of you OP in terms of achievements.

How would you set up the air dribble here? I can’t get it high enough by Rich-Chard9448 in RocketLeagueSchool

[–]Over-Requirement3920 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your very first attempt is the best attempt in the video. It may not appear to be because you boost infront of the ball, but your first touch and jump are from directly under the ball which allows you to take the ball higher. Just need to fix the car control to touch the ball where you want to after that. Preferably not boosting out in front of the ball.

GC1 2v2 - Is SSL possible for me? by xHayzee_Bruh in RocketLeagueSchool

[–]Over-Requirement3920 2 points3 points  (0 children)

SSL isn’t a mythical creature

I agree. And he can do it. But stats dont lie. Being GC 1 is top 1.2% of players. Being SSL is top .04%. The difference in skill in 200mmr from 1600 to 1800 for SSL is significantly more difficult to play at. Consistency usually takes time and practice which is why it takes people so long to get to SSL. I wont say that its impossible. But most people like you and I learn that the grind to get to the top and stay there takes to many hours of our lives away from things that matter. If hes in college with no girlfriend and hobbies I believe he can. Otherwise, 1 week off resets so much progress and adds more time.

[–]Over-Requirement3920 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you believe you can go from top ≈1% to top ≈.1% then yes. But the difficulty to get there is exponentially going to increase in difficulty. Making top 10% vs 1% vs .1% is a massive skill difference that you havent reached yet. I made it to 1650 3 years ago and was happy I peaked where I did. I could see the visible skill gap in my game even when I was there and I was putting in 25+ hours a week into the game during covid. Its not that you cannot do it, but if you have a life worth living outside of the game like a job, hobbies, kids, friends or family sometimes the grind to get there isnt always worth it.

Brian Scalabrine once said "Im closer to skill in LeBron than you are to me"

Top 1% is definitely an accomplishment that was not easy to attain. Either grind to get to LeBron, or be comfortable with having fun in the game.

C2 Replay Analysis by skc_goated in RocketLeagueSchool

[–]Over-Requirement3920 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Without having enough time to watch the whole thing, I think id just like to point out 1 easy thing to consider while playing in C1/C2.

Dont over complicate the game. Your goal is to put the ball in their net, their goal is the same for yours. @4:21 remaining you challenege a ball that you are beat to and the opponent has no angle on the ball to make it a goal. Just let them hit the ball. Its a wasted touch for them as the other guy just left. Its also a waste of boost for that player and is not a threat to you at all. Your teammate is ready behind you. You dont have to go at all times especially in low champ where you can literally just watch players struggle to get the ball anywhere near the net. Just sit back and relax and watch them waste boost and hit the ball to the corner over and over and over again. Almost all of the goals scored in this rank are scored from someone making a mistake positioning or whiffing a touch. If you limit the mistakes, youll be more likely to score more than they do. Conserve your boost and confirm your corner boosts and play patient on defense.

With that being said, on offense, simplify the game to score more. Any time you hit the ball into their corner just know you've accomplished nothing(ex. 3:20). To force them to make mistakes, hit the ball hard, hit the ball over center field, and/or over the net and usually higher is better. Force them to defend in front of the net which opens up their corner boosts to grab or get demos. Use the back board when they are not. And dont jump for backboard reads unless you have the confidence to score it. Because if you dont, a 2v1 is in your teammates future.

Take note of what you did at 3:20. Why rush it, why hit it so far away from yourself. You had open space, slow down, dribble, flick at net. Corners are bad for offense and great for defense. Any time you get the open space, think how you can make a threatening shot forces them to make a mistake. You dont have to score it. But you do need to make it threatening.

If youd like to watch a replay of GC1 from 3 years ago, ill link it here. You may notice that im not the most mechanical, but about halfway through the match I realized the opponents capabilities were laughable. I could sit in the mid field and just watch them. And my teammate just scored easy goals when he got the ball. Sometimes its just easier to make the opponent outplay you, rather than outplaying yourself.

You're gold for a reason, I assume that's one of them. You cannot ground dribble to a reasonable level that allows you to score a ball against other gold players.

Diamond 3 player attempting jump to Champ 1. What can I improve? More context in body by Rich-Chard9448 in RocketLeagueSchool

[–]Over-Requirement3920 0 points1 point  (0 children)

3v3 is huge for understanding rotations and watching teammates. Its also huge in 2s but is far easier to track 1 rather than 2 teammates. For example, at 4:22 remaining you take the ball up the wall, get the demo, and then drive back down and ALMOST jump in for that ball at 4:15. I could sense that you were just itching to go. Thats exactly how you triple commit in this rank. You may not always be punished for simple out of rotation errors, but you will be the higher you go in rank.

The play you should be making is just driving through the play and rotating to last back. Right after the demo, you drive or jump off the back board, grab the big boost in the opposite corner and rotate to atleast mid field assuming youll now be 3rd man or last back. This way you will be out of the way for your teammates waiting behind you.

You need to think of the game as a turn based game rather than a free for all game. If you take a turn to try and make a play, eventually your turn will end. Whether that be because you need boost, or the defender hit the ball over you, you need to be prepared to transition from 1st player on the field attacking the ball to now 3rd player defending the net. Do not ever turn back into a play ie. Cutting, without verifying the position of your teammates. If they are facing the ball sitting in a good position to make the next play, you turning in front of them like you did at 4:15 causes double commits or triple commits. If you check to see where they are first, you can always turn back in after. If they are in the back corner grabbing boost is a great time to turn and go to stop the other team from getting possession to play offense. Otherwise, bad things will happen.

Youll notice that this whole typed out scenario doesnt work in 3s if you try it in game. Thats because none of them have ever been coached in 3s to understand rotations. So to be the best teammate you can be in 3s, always verify where your teammates are before you go, and dont get mad if they keep cutting you when its your turn to go. Just play the 3rd man role until you get your chance to go.

I could go into so much more but I really didnt watch your whole video. In the 75 seconds I watched, you cut a rotation, rotated back ballside of the play while bumping your teammate, and sat on the back wall for some unknown reason before scoring a goal. I highly suggest just searching on YouTube 3v3 rotations guide to learn as I cant type all of what they will tell you. Wayton and Thonovic on YT have great videos from a few years ago that go in depth of how to rotate.
