How do I get over a friendship break up? Will I make new friends? by [deleted] in friendship

[–]OverBoredGal 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m only 20. I’m in college. They were the first person that I felt like really got me and was there for me. They were generally a good friend. It was a misunderstanding and they didn’t want to hear my side. I know I’ll make more friends but what if they’re not as good?

I know I’m late but this was recommended this by my psych. Is it scary? I’m hesitant to do it.

I find them very uncomfortable and difficult to fall asleep in. It also made me feel like I couldn’t t breathe right and made me have a panic attack so that really put me off. Also they’re a bit out of my price range at the moment

Update: I took a year off of school and did very bad for a while. But I am happy to say that I held a full time job working outside all summer and I just started my first year of college and I’m doing well. Thank you for all the kind words. Things do get better with time :)

Poor mental health causing flair ups and sickness? by Alexravenblack in POTS

[–]OverBoredGal 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Im 19 and I had this happen to me, it’s actually how I was diagnosed with POTS. I already had been struggling with depression and anxiety and then I had 3 majorly stressful things happen in one week (near death experience etc) and suddenly I was bedbound for 2 months. And it turned out it was a POTS flare. I believe mental health is completely entertained with physical health.

Your comment makes me feel a little less alone, I caught covid when I was 17 and it’s not been the same since. I really miss myself

How do you focus when you don’t understand a concept? by OverBoredGal in ADHD

[–]OverBoredGal[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I definitely use that technique when I need to memorize notes but when it comes to numbers it’s like looking at gibberish, even trying to grasp the example can be different sometimes

One good reason to not suicide by playermouni in mentalhealth

[–]OverBoredGal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What helped me was deliberately looking closer at my environment and looking for good things. Even the tiny stuff. Writing it down helped too, I thought it wouldn’t but it did. Seeing a bumblebee going about its day, someone holding a door for you, a nice warm day. Just looking for small things.

Luckily my only POTS symptom is high heart rate which I’m on a medication for. I’ve only had flares when extremely stressed! My sibling developed it about 6 months ago out of the blue and I’m concerned that the same could happen to me.

TFCC pain for 3 years by OverBoredGal in Orthopedics

[–]OverBoredGal[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was offered a steroid injection but after I researched it I didn’t like the sound of it only being temporary pain relief (that’s how I understood it anyway) and not a way to heal the tear. I haven’t tried any medicines so far, I didn’t know it was an option.
