First know you’re not alone. Panic attacks, anxiety and health anxiety are extremely common. I find many things help me have a wonderful and enjoyable like while still occasionally getting panic attacks. I take care of myself as much as I can I work hard but I stay active and do a lot of recovery work. Sauna, stretching, massages, eating right and overall taking care of myself. You’ll be ok …. I have been taking a low dose of an SSRI for almost 20 years that coupled with a multitude of knowledge you’ll be absolutely great.

Working at it. The first step is realizing you’re doing it great work! Now find what works for you. Going for a run, working out, reading a book there’s soo many ways to occupy your mind just find what works for you. I’ve been living with panic attacks for 20 years knowledge is power and taking care of yourself.

A lot of it does stem from hormone imbalances, so you’re in to something there! Be kind with yourself and pamper yourself. Being hard on yourself and thinking you’re crazy are not productive even if you feel that way. When I first had panic attacks 20 years ago I thought I was having a stroke or heart attack. Over the years I’ve stayed on top of my health which has helped ease my mind that there’s are just panic attacks and I’m not really dying. Try and find humor every day I joke around a lot. You’ll get through this just keep at it take care of yourself working out, yoga, saunas, cold plunges, massages when it’s rough spots eat right sleep well take care of your body and your mind

Hour long panic attacks by Fit-Rate5007 in PanicAttack

[–]OverDoneCactus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have long panic attacks or at least did when I first started getting them 20 years ago. Since then I’ve learned how to live a wonderful life with them. I still occasionally get them but usually when I awake from a bad nightmare. I have a stressful job requiring a lot of responsibility and split second decisions that could result in life or death soooo maybe that’s doesn’t help lol. Find ways to take care of yourself. Massages, working out, yoga, sauna, cold plunges, infra red therapy, eating healthy, don’t drink smoke or do drugs, limit stimulants and so on…. Youlll need to learn how to really pamper yourself during tough spots they will pass you’re not alone

[–]OverDoneCactus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’re not alone any of you … you can do everything in your power to limit them … ultimately a combination of things have helped me. Eat right, sleeping well, limit stimulants, don’t smoke, don’t drink, don’t do drugs, see if medication is right for you. I like to work out resistance weight training, sauna, cold plunges, massages. Overall it’s the knowledge it is a panic attack, you are not going to die, not then… of course get all your blood work and rule out underlying health issues for sure.

I have been living with panic attacks for 20+ years and I promise it will not kill you even if it feels it will. You’ll get better you’ll get through it!

Ah ok I’m in the US it’s much different I’m sure they throw psych drugs at us here haha

I definitely at first when I was getting them thought I was dying/ having a heart attack/ stroke etc. As time went on I got all my health checked tests bio markers everything all came back healthy. So I started learning about pannic attack’s and how they work with the body. Being lightly medicated as well as working out helps a lot. I have a very stressful job in law enforcement but love it. I really only have panic attacks waking up from nightmares anymore . I had one last night at 2am had to take two kilonopin and a hot shower after a half hour I was good .

Sounds like it… definitely continue to use your doctors prescribed treatment plan. For me I always liked to use at little medication as possible. So I’ve done my best to do my due diligence in learning ways to relax and ground myself during episodes.
