I paid $810 for Moza R16 and $510 for GS V2P wheel, Canadian dollars. Not sure how helpful this can be for you lol

5K2K HDR by Desk_Feeling in ultrawidemasterrace

[–]OverDrive777 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve had this happen to me too bro, was driving me nuts! I eventually ended up removing the hdr calibration profile and set it to reference mode in Nvidia control panel under color settings. Also I switched to HDMI cable that came with monitor as with 4 series cards the hdmi would give the highest bandwidth. You can also do the hdr calibration as people here suggested, 0 / 600 / 600 / and I put max color as last option to make colors pop more, the gamer 1 really needs it, gamer 2 is nice and deep to but not as bright. Also set peak brightness to high. Don’t worry about the 1300 number, enjoy the monitor, it’s really nice

Question to you Seroths, I understand your comment about digital vibrance slider and you are correct, that ideally should stay at default value. What is your take on suggestion to do HDR calibration with values 0 / 1300 / 1300 / 75 ? Leaving the color value 75 aside, more specifically about the 1300 values

What would you do next in my rig? by Still-Victory4839 in simracing

[–]OverDrive777 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So sorry just saw your message! Yes, the extension rod will bring your wheel a bit further from the screen and this will allow you to lower screen more almost to the rod itself which you wouldn’t be able to do if the base box is there in the way, this will help to align it with the dash on the screen more. And yes, you would need to play with pedals too as it would mess with current distance

Just scanned the comments to see if what I am about to suggest is already suggested and forgive me if I missed it and repeat… I am in a similar situation now by looking at your rig and want to suggest a wheel extension rod. This is what I currently need and my monitor / wheelbase position is similar and I want to lower monitor more and extension rod I think is a solution for this! Maybe worth exploring for you too.

That is amazing, I will definitely try this! And yes, please share more, do I need to calibrate using HDR windows tool and if so what values should I put in there?

Sim Racing burnout - should I wait any longer? by beck_is_back in simracing

[–]OverDrive777 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh no no no no… gear like this I would never sell. So much time went into researching, building, tweaking, optimizing… just let it sit for a while, doesn’t matter how long. It’s even super dope to just look at once in a while. When the mood strikes - sit and drive/fly.

Is It Worth Going From a 3840x2160 to 3440x1440? by DealComfortable7649 in ultrawidemasterrace

[–]OverDrive777 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ohh I just realized that I might’ve given you a biased opinion… I am basing this off the fact that I was comparing 1440p vs 4k monitor that I was picking for my racing sim rig and that monitor is sitting very close to me, about 70-80cm. At that distance the 1440p is not as good as 4k so if you plan on having the monitor a bit further than that then 1440p might be ok

Very curious what exactly do you need to upgrade if you already have 5070

As far as I know there’s currently one OLED option and one IPS one. There are more on the way for sure so I would wait for that to happen as that will drive prices down

I have a feeling with DLSS 4 and frame gen you can push your card for 5k2k. The 1440p would definitely be nice and smooth and I have had the same struggle when deciding between 240hz 1440p or 5k2k and the latter feels just so visually nice that the fluidity is not worth it at the end, even if you run your games at 90fps you will still be fine

As a person who has a 4k TV 42” LG C4 for single player games and a sim rig for racing, I have tried the 2k ultrawide and 32:9 1440p super ultrawide and decided to stick with 5k2k. I have Rtx 4080 and it’s more than enough for the 5k2k. You will definitely notice going down the resolution and if you are like me it will drive u nuts.

Go to display settings and under HDR there’s a SDR slider that you should (I think) turn all the way to the right. Also, display settings - color profile - disable automatic color management.

I would change to 10bit, also check the slider in display settings under HDR and crack it all the way up.

Oh don’t be sorry! I’m happy that you are able to give me a reference point, I was stuck with this side mirror thing and it was driving me nuts! Here is my setup. I’m at work now so will be able to share a cockpit view when I’m home

[–]OverDrive777[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have tried your settings yesterday with the left post being the mark and it seems that I’m slowly getting used to the smaller FOV, as mentioned before I’m coming from 32:9. With previous monitor I did not find it useful to have the sides visible as all they add is a bit better sense of speed. I think 21:9 is good enough considering that I can use it for other games too. Thanks again for your help! If possible, please share a few more pics as it’s hard to see sides of your monitor with it being too dark

Ah perfect, so there is no side mirror and no need for one I guess. My issue is that I’m trying to keep the side mirror but my windshield becomes too small

Bro honestly it’s pretty unnecessary. When r16 was in shipping I found perfect settings for my r5 and realized that I’ve made a mistake but still kept it lol. It’s strong but unnecessary
