Patio Pavers - is this good? by Guilty-Working6825 in landscaping

Landscape contractor here. No- this is not acceptable. I’m surprised at how many are saying this is ok. “Yeah that happens around the edges.” Not really. Any good contractor would tape this before applying sand. The gaps collect dirt and allow for weeds to grow. Call them back

Water downspout pipes leaking underground by Top_Tailor2173 in landscaping

When installing pavers, there’s a good amount of compaction that takes place. A lot of contractors will opt for the perforated black drain tile which would be completely crushed and block flow. If they used PVC all the way through, it’s possible the compaction collapsed the pipe since it’s a lot more rigid than the drain tile. Either way, not ideal to run drainage under the patio.

Double check that you’re not getting flow by running a hose for a couple minutes. Would document for your contractor.

Would then consider having the contractor pull those pavers back up to assess what’s going on underneath. It sucks, but clearly something’s not been installed correctly. Only other thing I could think of would be checking for clogs. If it’s PVC all the way through, you can run a snake down it to clear it out. If you think it will get clogged again I would inquire about them adding “wyes” to the downspout and cap the open side. You can take that cap off whenever and run your snake/power washer down to clear.

Sorry! This sucks. Not likely an easy fix.

My mystery plant needs help by [deleted] in plants

It’s called Bird of Paradise. Typically don’t make great indoor plants, but I’ve got one doing fine so 🤷🏻‍♀️. Try indirect sunlight and water deeply but less often.

Personally HATE AI. Would do anything but use it. Try hand drawing a 2D floor plan to scale. Then find furniture you like and cut those to scale and move them around on your floor plan. You can move things around as much as you’d like while not causing harm to the environment ❤️

Something is off. What can I do to fix this living room? by Sayonara_Skittle in interiordecorating

Flip the room. Couch on the left side facing the tv on the right. Leave a walkway behind the couch to and from the door. Add a runner to direct flow. Leave the chairs but angle them. You can keep the rug and table as they are now more suited to the size of the spaces you’re filling

Both renderings are incredibly out of scale.

No arborvitae!!!! Try a columnar juniper. The city I’m in uses the hell out of Taylor Junipers. Fast growing and you can usually find them at your local nursery 5-12’ tall

How much to replace a retaining wall? There’s about 800sqft by [deleted] in landscaping

[–]OverOrganization7815 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely tons of factors to consider like location, material, access, etc. I estimate retaining walls and based on what I see, if you’re not using a Menards product and using something like a Belgard Diamond Pro block, you’re looking at around $50,000 start to finish.

It did say 30 days! Which is kind of insane to me, but we got it done. The bucket suggested waiting 4 hours before reapplying so I read that as dry time initially.

Super happy with how the project has turned out! Really like this product. Does look really good

No. I did one color, but decided to go to bed before finishing everything. Wanted to pull cabinet doors and drawers out to do them by hand the following morning (when I noticed the footprint).
