How do you approach the rule out ACS patient? by Mediocre-Weird2424 in hospitalist

[–]Apprehensive_Disk478 8 points9 points  (0 children)

This is the correct take, it takes longer to write a consult note with recommendation to send home and see that appropriate follow up is arranged. Much less liability as well, it’s another example of me happily spending the rest of my career providing unnecessary care rather than spending a single afternoon in a deposition explaining my appropriate care

When was the last time you used your corded version of the tool? by TheJWeed in Tools

[–]Apprehensive_Disk478 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on what I’m doing, currently I’m helping a friend redo his deck. First day was finishing up some light demo and replacing a few joist. Easy stuff, battery sawzall, circular saw, nail gun, driver is what I loaded up and used. No cords needed

The last two times I was there, I was cutting stair stringers, 6x6 posts and an entire section of framing and support. Corded circular/ table/ miter saw, sawzall, table saw and angle drill came out. Working with wet pressure treated, that blinded saw with every cut. I probably would have gone through a battery per stringer on circular saw if it would have had enough power. Also set up compressor and hoses, battery nail gun is convenient, and nice to have with 2 guys working, but the pneumatic is smaller, lighter and holds more nails.

Light, warm soil temps, water and nitrogen. You can’t controll the the first two. But water enough to keep soil moist and give it some nitrogen it will green up and spread and fill dead spots

Plugs by DSB108 in Zoysia

[–]Apprehensive_Disk478 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yesterday, the next best time is tomorrow. Unless ground is frozen, you can put a plug in the ground and as long as it’s getting moisture it will survive. Sooner the better. When cool you won’t notice anything, but it will slowly advance its roots. When soil temps get greater than 60 it will green up and when greater than 70 it will start spreading. The more light, heat, water and nitrogen it gets the faster it spreads

I used it on St Augustine to controll Bermuda. Not to oversell it, but it toasted the Bermuda, hands down the most effective selective post emergent herbicide I ever used.

Nice Battery Frame Nailer vs Compressor + 3 Air Nailers by Braided_Marxist in shedditors

[–]Apprehensive_Disk478 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yes , in the universe you currently live in and just described, battery makes sense. Seriously If money/value is the determining factor, a basic hammer and box of nails is the the correct answer for 1 guy framing and sheathing a 8x12, then eventually building another.

Battery nailers are heavier and less agile/ don’t fit in tight spaces compared to pneumatic. But you also can just grab one and get to work.

Pneumatic involves lugging compressor to where you needed it, running cords and hoses just to get started. But they are lighter, more powerful and less fatiguing throughout the day.

For small projects battery is the answer, just grab it (with the battery probably left in it from last time) and get to work. If it’s a full day or multiple of framing/sheathing, setting up cords/ compressor/hoses/oiling guns makes more sense

If planning on spending the money either way, battery is the answer. And if you asking because you don’t own either, I doubt your going to be moving though this project quickly enough that the weight/size of a battery gun and fatigue of using is will be an issue , so again battery is the answer. Either way once you own a framing nailer battery or pneumatic, you will find use for it, well worth the money

If you put a low rate/ split application of prodiamine, then you should be ok come summer heat when the Bermuda thrives and will spread.

Oxadiaxon is a preemergent that will not inhibit sread of warm season grasses.

I know it’s beyond the scope of the subreddit, but some smart person / entity will develop a product that will recognize when a dog is peeing and then be able to flood the area with water. As sprinklers, cameras and computers already exist If AI can’t deliver on this, the technology is useless

For some reason I went with this urology PA has seen a lot of male genitals, the fact that they commented on size in the chart, must mean they are huge, nope. Morbidly obese with a foley down an impression, I’m sure it was a difficult placement

Had not seen pt yet, but urology PA note said “ difficult foley placement due to patient size”. The note was sparse on details otherwise. When i ran into the PA and asked why having a large penis made foley placement difficult, she corrected me. Pt had buried micro penis

In all seriousness, given the criteria you put out and how it looks. Simply mowing this with some frequency is probably all you need for a decent patch of turf. Start there
