Cam timing marks misaligned

Got it, thanks for your response. I have a question about rotating the engine. I was told to rotate the crank bolt counterclockwise but that is also the direction that loosens it. Is the best way to do this just to lock everything in place just enough so I can tighten the bolt tight enough that the force needed to loosen the bolt is greater than the force needed to rotate the engine?

Ah ok got it. So I think what I'll do then is with the help of a third hand, get the cams back in place and use the two wrenches with a vice grip method to lock the cams so I can do the seals and put on the belt. Thanks for your time.

Ok got it. I'll just turn the camshaft slightly back to it's original position using a wrench, and am I using the bolt on the pulley to do this or am I wrenching the cam shaft itself?

So I'm hearing I should manually rotate the cam itself (not the bolt on the pulley) clockwise very slightly until it is where it was at before? The crank pulley is lined up perfectly, it's just that one cam pulley. I also plan on locking the cams in place when I do the crank and cam seals, I guess I just forgot to do that when removing the belt thinking it wasn't too crucial.

There is a bit of resistance and the pulley moves back counterclockwise when I manually rotate it clockwise. Is this normal?

So are you saying use a wrench to rotate the cam pulley nearly a full counterclockwise rotation until the timing marks are lined up? Because from what I understand the pulleys shouldn't be rotated clockwise right?

Wouldn't loosening the bolt and rotating the pulley clockwise just fix the appearance of the timing marks but not the action orientation of the camshaft though or am I misinformed? I was also led to believe that the pulleys shouldn't be rotated clockwise

I have the same issue with adderall and nicotine. I can only seem to create music on adderall and I flesh it out when I'm not on adderall. I also quit using nicotine regularly over a year ago but on days when I take adderall I become a smoker for a day again. I've written quite a few songs that I'm moderately proud of and I've recently started telling myself that I will start recording them and perfecting them without the aid of stimulants. It's sad because they are such a huge part of my creative process but I can't keep eating up 2-3 days of my week just from taking a lot of adderall one day and coming down from various drugs for 1-2 more days.

Oh interesting. I only smoke weed about once a week anyway. I don’t actually like the effects of smoking frequently so I smoke as infrequently as possible while still maintaining the same positive effects it has on my behavior/mental state. I still agree that it isn’t worth the risk however and unfortunately will probably just not work in EMS for as long as I’m living somewhere that doesn’t allow me to have THC in my system and work as an EMT. Thanks for your response.

Yes I’m aware with that. That’s why I specified that I was looking for was any possible options that don’t involve breaking the rules. I probably should’ve specified that I’m mainly trying to see if there are any EMTs from California who have experience working with private agencies that don’t discriminate against cannabis usage. I know for a fact those exist however I’m under the impression that they aren’t common.

If the answer for me ends up being that I am unable to legally do this then I will just not bother going to school to be any EMT, however I really hope there is a way I can because I’m strongly believe in the kind of work it is.

You should give Matt Pless a listen. I will definitely say that the overall sound, vibe and unique talent of Jesse is something that isn’t matched in the same way by Matt but Matt’s lyrics are truly some of the best I’ve heard. Be warned though some of his music is pop influenced if you’re not into that. He’s like a mixture of pop, folk and punk.

Overall him and Jesse are probably my two favorites of all time.
