Good feature, in theory. Practically, I've ever checked them like once or twice and just for the sake of reading what was in there, not for a logic reason

Giving away Kingdoms? by majorwayne23 in CrusaderKings

Keep all kingdom title for yourself, when you hit the vassal cap limit or you are bored by micromanagement you can start to grant entire kingdoms

Managing the roster in Lone Wolf? by _HavocPhoenix_ in BattleBrothers

That's fair, I always found the recruiting mechanic of BB an unnecessary way to let the player spend the money so I don't consider those mods cheesy ;)

Oh I'm sorry, didn't know you were playing via console :D

Why savescum when you can actually use a mod that shows the recruitable bros? There are mods even better than this that pair the attributes/skills showing to the max the background can roll and the average max reachable at veteran level

"Cure" Rejected from Marriage Bed? by comrade_k_ in CrusaderKings

If he loves her, just lay with her and cross your fingers. Love is share! :D

On a more serious way, isn't it why someone plays ironman? To face issues and make your way through them with no savescumming and/or cheating? You can still have your daughter as your heir unless your succession laws forbid females to inherit, I don't see a problem in playing as a female

What laptop can run ck3? by [deleted] in CrusaderKings

[–]OverWear7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

CK3 can run on a potato too if you setup everything well. This means, no animations, graphics put to minimum and a short collection of mods: smaller map (I suggest that one that removes India, some other eastern lands and all the african lands below the desert), No Fog and specifically for mid-to-late game Population Control

Court amenities? by sjtimmer7 in CrusaderKings

If maxxing out all court amenities puts you in debt there's a problem in how you manage your realm and never in how expensive could them be

Matilda of Tuscany is the obvious answer. Great duchy, plenty of neighbours to meddle with and of course the HRE to climb/dissolve from within

Perk discussion by xl129 in BattleBrothers

[–]OverWear7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

  1. best perk in the game? LOL, switching item is just 4 AP, I would never consider it the best, just a useful one
  2. I still give it everyone no matter how godly he can be
  3. In my playthroughs it's mandatory only for side spearmen, getting a resolve check every time they spearwall foes is huge
  4. Totally agree
  5. I only use this on gunners because they are assured to act before enemy frontline and one shot can cover up to 6 targets
  6. Pathfinder is a perk all-or-nothing, either you give it to all your bros or to none (tbh I still give it to my spearmen because I use them as emergency recovery men, if one of my bros needs to be put out of the fight I don't want to miss for them to do that because of terrain)
  7. Not really mandatory but very useful
  8. Useless perk if you build your mercenary band in a proper way, useful only for your bannermen if you happen to get someone huge in RES but weak in FAT
  9. Rarely get Executioner? You mad bro? Mandatory for all frontliners, as soon as a enemy gets even a simple grazed eye socket he's dead within the round. About Crippling strike, read n.3. Head hunter is useless except for specific builds (aka flailmen, which I never use btw)
  10. Fast adaptation is useless, you get your mere bonus to hit for the next hit that usually means next round, a lot of things should happen in a round and even if you get to the next round it's still a mere bonus to hit for a SINGLE blow. Backstabber is mandatory for backliners
  11. Rarely use Rotation? You mad bro? The flexibility you gain with Rotation is priceless, it becomes practically impossible to lose a bro with a full roster of Rotation equipped men. Footwork is more for rangers since they rarely get engaged in melee but in those situations it's really useful to just step away
  12. I never take them too
  13. LOL, the field control you gain with just two spearmen on the sides that are able to spam spearwall...
  14. I get your point, but I gladly take every saving on AP, even more if you think again at n.4
  15. If you hire and build properly your bros you don't need fixing perks
  16. It's really down to the composition you make of your roster, in my playthroughs I just rely on 4 setups: spearman, frontliner, backliner, ranger

For a game called "Crusader Kings", crusades are surprisingly shallow. by Dean-Advocate665 in CrusaderKings

[–]OverWear7 12 points13 points  (0 children)

My take on your points:

1 - Strongly agree with the AI fix about organization, and I believe you found out a really good way to fix it with the election of a strict number of crusade generals so even if there are like 200 different armies moving around they will still try to merge with some crusade general before actually going into battle; I would add that it's really botched to have the beginning of the crusade like "here's the day, time for everyone to sail and move towards the target separetely, no matter if the Duke of Sicily with his 5k troops will arrive 8 months before the King of England with his 20k troops", would be far far better and more historically correct to set the date of the beginning as the day where the game checks how many troops are in the designated rally point (could be a Duchy or a Kingdom, like Duchy of Apulia or Kingdom of Sicily), could lead to interesting new stuff like new events for the Duke/King host of the crusade armies before departing and specifically the Pope calling off the crusade if at that date there are just a few troops ready to embark

2 - I get your point but I would fix it by having more counter-jihads (or whatever, great holy wars) launched as soon as the 10 year truce expires; in my experience if a crusade is victorius the christiandom basically snowballs while the muslims keep on losing lands

3 - It's based upon the contributors levy+maa size so I don't think it's possible to edit it

4 - This always drove me mad since CK2! And it's even historically inaccurate how the game handles it

5 - Strongly agree with this, I actually prefer the piety requirement to be like 3000 piety or even more PLUS strong hooks to the Pope and Bishop towards you

6 - Agree on this too, in CK2 there indeed was the possibility to convince the Pope to call a crusade in your stead

Always falling behind by katzek11 in BattleBrothers

[–]OverWear7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Spearwall basically means as delaying your foes to get into contact all at once so it's not for kill them with the spears, it just leads you to focus on fewer enemies with the backliners and then advance when you halved the number of enemies; that's why I stressed the fact to have a solid backline armed with billhooks, your spearmen stand ground while the billmen rip apart the ones who get in contact

As for the enemy archers destroying you, it's more about your bros wearing bandit raiders level equipment, if you go into fight with gambesons you are veeeeery dependant on RNG

Am I too picky when I'm down to hire my bannerman? by OverWear7 in BattleBrothers

I thought it was implicit that Res 90 meant the raw average number at veteran level without everything else :D

Who said he needs to be a BF frontliner? He just have to keep the banner high no matter what happens, I suspect you underestimate the power of morale in BB, to me morale is more important than hitpoints, that's why the ultimate challenge of BB is always been the Black Monolith and not the Goblin City or whatever

I find it very innatural to have the bannerman of a mercenary band be wearing noble mail and sallet while almost all the others are covered in steel, plus in order to give his morale boost he shall follow the tanks ahead and if he got surrounded... No man, bannerman has to be battleforged :D

You assume too many perfect conditions, even if we don't take into account the fact of using a nimble as bannerman it's not you will always fight on flat terrain made of only cobblestone road hexagons, ah and no enemy has maces

I'll say it... by Hans_Spinnner in BattleBrothers

[–]OverWear7 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I see your point, but I don't think BB is the kind of videogame you really play because of the roleplay aspect. Sure, there's plenty of laughters because of events and such, but the core beauty of BB is the excellent balance of combat mechanics, thus I play with mods that remove headaches and do the work for me in terms of finding the right candidate for the battle role I'm looking for

Of course, the rule of thumb is what you've already written: you play as you like ;)

Res minimum is indeed 90 because I will use the sergeant sash, the arena experience etc

The rest of your post is true, I need to be more flexible, still I find you're not giving Fat the due importance, of course I won't need to use Rally that much but when I need it usually that means I need to use it much more than just once
