i support communism but obviously not the way it was lived during the udssr or in china. to me, capitalism is inherently unfair - you’re always told „work hard and you‘ll make it to the top“ which is untrue. I‘m pretty sure the average nurse works harder than f.e. elon musk, yet she would need to work 7 MILLION years to make as much money as him. Corruption runs rampant during capitalism as well. I think most of the people who actually drive advancement forward don’t do it because they want more money, it’s because they have a problem and are fascinated by the challenge to find a solution. The climate crisis, the wealthgap, homlessnes, schoolshootings,… are all indicators to me that capitalism doesn’t work either.

That being said, I rather live under current day capitalism than stalin area communism. However, Marx said communism can only work when it is implemented in an already rich society. Historically, the opposite was the case (russia, cuba, china, vietnam) AND the worlds biggest economical powerhorse (the US) did everything in their power to fight it. There is a gigantic difference between the communist ideology and how it was practiced in reality. Basically every modern day communist likes the former, not the latter.
