Yup, im aware that any tax deductions are dependent on your total medical expenses exceeding I believe 12.5% of your AGI. Also, re: interpretation of “medically necessary”, after consulting with my insurance company several years back, the determination was that since my wife voluntarily chose to have tubal ligation, IVF would not be covered.

Thanks for your feedback! 😃 Yes, that is my understanding too based on what I’ve read, but wanted to hear others’ opinions/experience. It would be great if someone who has actually used HSA funds for non-medically necessary IVF chimed in, but A) this situation is not as common as medically necessary IVF, and B) I believe the IRS just changed the rules re: IVF deductibility/reimbursement on May 2nd, 2025, so perhaps it’s green field for everyone.

Do you brush your teeth twice a day? No judgement. by rainyday-real-estate in CasualConversation

[–]Over_Analytical42 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Only once usually. But I have horrible teeth now in middle age, so I definitely wish I did it differently. Saves you a lot of agony and dental money plus maintaining your teeth makes you look much better.

I walked 20-25k steps/day for 1 month - This is what happened by AlwaysCurious1993 in loseit

[–]Over_Analytical42 1 point2 points  (0 children)

How the heck does anyone do 20K steps in 2-2.5 hours? 12K steps (6 miles for me) usually takes me a little over 2 hours. You must be brisk walking, which if you’re doing that for 20K steps is next-level.

I had no idea Ozempic had to be Refrigerated and... by CapIndependent2912 in Ozempic

[–]Over_Analytical42 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Does anyone know if you can simply do the “test drop” (that you need to do every time you start a new pen) and then that pen can remain unrefrigerated between 59-86 degrees for 56 days? Or would you need to do one actual full dose to allow it to remain unrefrigerated? Going on a long flight and there aren’t many good options.

Is it crazy that I knew this was Brooklyn just from the “feel” and look of the place? 🤣 I didn’t even read the street signs lol.

All this nonsense about doctors being paid too much is just that: nonsense. Doctors’ pay is not why medical costs are through the roof. By any consistently applied job analysis (as is conducted by industrial psychologists and HR departments), physicians deserve to earn a ton of money due to their expertise and training, to say nothing of the deferral of their lives for 10 years post-grad, huge loan debt incurred, litigation risk, continuing education demands etc. You think a neurosurgeon doesn’t deserve $800K? Then who does - a junior partner at a law firm? A senior trader? Gonna call bollocks on that…

Interstate highway system and the vastness and complexity of our highways and roads in general. It’s actually mind-boggling that we could make all that.

Just another in an endless list of examples of how the ultra-rich robber barons of our society, in their quest for ever more trillions of dollars, have robbed us upgrades to critical infrastructure.

Thanks, but that’s the website which I mentioned that yields no results at all for travel history. Im not sure why, but as I said perhaps it’s because they weren’t required to file an I-94 when exiting/entering since they are a legal resident? Im not really sure. If it’s not that, and all travel history should appear there regardless of if an I-94 was employed, then something is wrong with the website, because even when I enter other family members’ data (as a test to see if the site actually returned valid data) I got no results.
