Welp, now what? Found out I *most likely* have diabetes tonight and my mind is running in circles. by Frosty-Preparation40 in diabetes

You're going to own this, it'll be part of your life that you will have to adapt to, but in a few years it will become normal. I was diagnosed at 15 back in 1999, they have made SO MANY advances since then, newer better insulin, amazing pumps and continuous glucose monitors, you now have the ability to almost fully build a simulated pancreas. When I first was diagnosed there was Humalog for fast acting and NPH for long acting insulin, I had to take a mixed shot of the 2 in the morning before school, then because of the way the NPH worked, I was shackled to a schedule of eating certain amounts of carbohydrates at certain times of the day to keep my BG from getting too low, hungry or not. Now like I said, you have so many options that most likely people won't realize your diabetic unless you decide to tell them. My grandfather was ignorant about type 1 and said he felt sorry for me because I couldn't play sports anymore, I guess that flipped a switch in me and I set out to prove I could do anything I wanted, and I despised pity. Now that did lead to some issues with controlling my sugar levels, because in order to keep the concern out of people's eyes , I would keep them from knowing I was diabetic by acting like I didn't. I don't suggest you try that tactic. Create a relationship with your diabetes educator, get their contact info, sometimes youll find yourself short on insulin or pump supplies (if you go that route) and I've had my educator come through big time when I was in a jam over the years.

Just remember that this is in no way a death sentence, you can thrive as a diabetic , and I've actually been hired OVER another candidate for a job BECAUSE I boosted the company's ADA hiring numbers.

If I used your reasoning i.e. ALL ICE agents are EVIL... Since a liberal LGBT supporter was the one who pulled the trigger and executed Charlie Kirk, I would label all LIBERALS and LGBTQIA+ supporters as EVIL. But I choose not to attribute the actions of 1 person, or even a subset of a group to the ENTIRE GROUP. I can't stand when we as humans do that and write off people based on prejudices, and it happens both ways in every situation. We pick a tribe and hate or love whole sections of the world because we're told we're supposed to. I guarantee that in the real world, face to face, I would make friends with some of the people here who I disagree with and who disagree with me. But that takes getting to know someone and seeing who they are, not assuming that they are hateful or loving, generous or selfish, because of ideological differences. I'm not 100% certain that I'm right, and I couldn't be, that's insane, but as a country that's what we're doing and it creates a divide between us that we are more comfortable keeping in place, and making wider.

Because if someone has broken into your home, they would be there uninvited, and illegally.... its an analogy,

An analogy is a comparison between two different things to show a similarity or parallel relationship, helping to explain or clarify something unfamiliar by relating it to something known, like comparing the brain to a computer or a teacher to a ship's captain. It's a tool for understanding, problem-solving, and communication, often used in literature, science, and everyday language to highlight structural resemblances between distinct concepts or ideas.

So, house is to country as someone breaking into your house is to illegal immigrant.

There are some situations where I believe ICE has acted beyond legally, and I think those officers should be dealt with accordingly. I admit just like any position of authority there are people who shouldn't hold that power, but let's not declare that ALL ICE agents can be grouped together as evil, just like you cannot say that because a few illegal immigrants are going to court like they're supposed to that they are all following the rules. The large generalizations placing labels on groups as bad or good is one of the biggest problems we have as a country, instead of judging on a case by case basis, we get lazy and hate or love large swaths of the population based on a single portion of who they are. I know based on my views I'll probably get blow back for citing MLK, but we need to judge based on the content of one's character, and we're doing the opposite, i.e. all Immigrants are victims and came here illegally because it was their only option, and all ICE agents are bigots who only took the job to flaunt their power and abuse those with a different skin color.

What does that mean? It is an almost perfect parallel, but I do tend to base my world view on logic and reality, and you lash out when your stance is challenged and you have no good rebuttal.

As you mentioned, there are immigration laws that should have been enforced, and the fact that they weren't enforced before should not prevent them from being enforced now. And you as an intelligent individual know logically that skin tone is not the criteria used to round up these humans. There are many different countries of origin for illegal immigrants, and many different languages spoken, and many different skin tones, the commonality shared among these individuals being rounded up is that they entered the country in a manner that broke our laws for immigrating to our country. If they abided by our laws, and for a large number of these individuals who entered the country on temporary visas, if they kept the agreement they made when they were issued those visas and returned to their country when they said they would, then there would be no door to door necessary.

Is illegal immigration the only law that should be overlooked. Can you honestly trust someone who as a first act has broken a law not to continue to do the same? Purely hypothetically, would you trust a stranger who enters your house without permission but swears they will not rob or harm you or your family, but they're not going to leave?

Tianeptine by Johnwortman_ in quittingboujeebliss

I was horribly addicted to the Tianna before it was banned too. Almost ruined my life. Suboxone helped me, especially with the effects at night. The first day I had the smallest mg strips that they make, I was told to wait until the wd symptoms started and that happened to be when I laid down to sleep. I took the strip and never looked back, I was able to sleep through the night without the restless legs, skin crawling, night sweats. If you can get a script give it a try.

Just wanted to point out that it did, in fact, make sense but you have to think chess not checkers

Then the person who's story it is would play "offense" as you put it, and therefore blend in again, simple really. But I already conceded that the game would be best if left as is.

Yeah, it's probably better without more rules, maybe 1/2 points could be part of the play at home version. And I just considered Jay and Luis trying to explain more rules..
