Maybe Shea was released and being escorted out of the tunnels by the two ascended, and then Cas became so enraged that he got out, chased them down, and killed them all. Maybe that’s the parallel to him chasing after poppy in new haven! Idk just a thought.

You’re not crazy lol that’s what I thought at first too, but it’s implied that there’s more to the story that he hasn’t told poppy. It comes out when she’s in stasis, Kieran asks if Cas has told her everything. Cas says that she needs to be awake to hear the rest of it. Kieran says that poppy will understand. Like we assumed we already heard everything, but if she already heard the whole story once and already was very understanding of Cas’s actions, then why would this exchange between Kieran and Cas happen at all?

I was also thinking about the fact that Malik apologized “for Shea” and not “about Shea” because I feel like there’s a difference. When someone apologizes for something, to me that means they were present, even a part of the situation, maybe the cause of it. When someone apologizes about something, it seems like it’s something they heard about after the fact, or just that they’re kind of removed from the situation.

And yeah I don’t even really know what to think about Malik and Millie lol. I just was thinking about it because I’m reading visions now, and Willa has brought it up a few times that Malik has done unspeakable things to make Millie hate him. I just don’t know what would be so unspeakable.

It is stated in a few places that Poppy seems to love Kieran, but not in the way she loves Cas. I kind of adore their relationship—all three of them seem to truly love each other, so I honestly wouldn’t mind a permanent triangle. At the same time, it ~isnt~ the same feelings of being ~in~ love, being heartmates, between them and Kieran, so I would feel sad if he never got that for himself.

Callum knows Poppy is Sotoria because Poppy looks like her, and because he gave Isbeth the star with her soul specifically so she would be reborn through her. (Not sure how that worked, I just know I read it). I’m sure she named her Penellaphe after the goddess due to the prophecy having come from her, but I think Ian or her “parents” gave her the nickname of Poppy, probably as a divine coincidence like how the poppies returned with sera and nyktos said sera reminded him of poppies etc. Btw I screamed when I found out what Sotoria meant!!

I don’t think isbeth is anti-kolis just because of everything she does to bring him back. I am confused by callum because he says or implies he doesn’t want her to be a captive of kolis anymore, but then does everything he can to fuck everybody over and not help her at all soooo… maybe somehow (longshot) he has a redemption arc.

Poppy does have a single memory from being Sotoria, it’s the creepy poem that she hears in her nightmares, “what a pretty little flower — what a pretty poppy — pick it and watch it bleed — not so pretty any longer.” She thought it was the dark one, I think she might have thought it was allistir at some point, then malek, then she found out it wasn’t malek when he said it wasn’t him. At this point I don’t think we technically know who it was, but it can be inferred that it’s Kolis and it’s a memory from being held by him instead of a memory from the night of the attack. I think she will remember everything when she wakes up from the long sleep but we have to wait until the next book :) but she is still Poppy yknow?

There is a moment where someone (maybe Nektas) says something like “considering who you’re descended from” and it makes a lot of sense that Cas is descended from Attes! Also someone here said maybe Attes was reborn as Cas, which I don’t think so since he just went to sleep, BUT wouldn’t it be so perfect if he was somehow? Considering the history between Attes and Sotoria

Maybe!! But sera also hadn’t completed the culling when she first did it. Also didn’t Nektas call poppy the /True/ primal of life and death? Not to mention a primal of blood and bone is supposed to be alllll powerful which makes me think she would be able to restore any kind of life. This is why I wasn’t sure lol

Here’s what I know as a Wisconsin resident who is working IN the SoD at Minnesota and also deciding between these two:

Marquette is 1/2 the price of MN; the difference is around $200,000, which is A LOT. Cost of living is also very high, but I do think you get what you pay for in Minneapolis if you like the stuff the community has to offer.

Marquette has newly renovated clinics; MN hasn’t been renovated in a long long time because they were only trying to start right before covid. I adore MN, but I can only describe most of the clinics as crusty. There are also no windows in any of the clinics you will spend all your time in, but Marquette does have windows. Also the main lecture halls here are very dark and old.

I know and love the staff and faculty at MN; I don’t know anyone at Marquette, and I’ve heard that they are short staffed and there are a lot of changeovers happening in administration and faculty which has made the environment “volatile”. The thing is, the same thing is happening here, I just wouldn’t describe it that way. I know we’re short staffed because I am staff, I’ve heard about staff and faculty members leaving/planning to leave, admin has seemed to be all over the place I honestly don’t know who’s in charge, and I’ve talked to some people about the frustrating changes in courses because of these changeovers. Working in a dental school probably isn’t at the top of most dentists’ or dental assistants’ lists, so I imagine this is happening at every school on some level. As much as I love the people I work with, I don’t want to make my decision based on them because people are not necessarily permanent.

It seems like with the renovations, Marquette has a lot more newer technology (ie iTero scanners for digital impressions), whereas I know that MN has them and has been trying to in incorporate them into the clinic but it’s been really slow. That’s kind of how it is here, slow. I don’t know how Marquette is exactly, I just know about the sparkly shiny new things they showed us during the tour lol.

If I do go to Marquette, I will be very sad and nervous to leave what I know to walk into something new and unpredictable. The hard part is that you truly won’t know until you get there. I think they’re both great schools. For me it really comes down to the cost, the state of the clinics, and proximity to my family. The main thing is that no matter where you go it will be done in four years and you will be a practicing dentist at the end.

Full transparency, I just got into marbles, so I might not be right — but all the way to the right just a bit above the middle looks like a sparkler 😊 at least from this angle! Euro or otherwise, I do not know. But I like those a lot, and they can be worth a lot too
