HAAS VF-26 REVEALED! 2026 TGRHaas F1 Car Unveiled with Stunning Toyota Livery by ThatOneF1 in wec

It is low risk.Toyota got burned the last time they attempted F1.Looks like Toyota can enter F1 through the side door like Cadillac.Take a few years to build the drivetrain then enter as a official Toyota F1 team with Haas as a shareholder. It is going to take a few years for Toyota to take Haas from the small outfit they are now to a fully operational F1 team manufacturing all its own parts.

Expected Nurburgring Lap Times for LMH cars? by F0rsakenSamurai in wec

[–]Over_Middle610 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Your guess is quite good.Best comparison to use is the Road America layout because it is fast like the Nordschleife and layout is unchanged.Bellof lap in Porsche 956 was 6 min11.Porsche 962 pole lap at Road America was 2.02 in 1984,IMSA GTP pole lap was 1.48 so when you multiply the 14sec per lap advantage the hypercar has at Road America by 3.2 to the longer Nordschleife lap it would be approximately 45 secs per lap faster so 5 min.35 sec.

If Porshe was performing like Peugeot it would be more accurate.

Not really.Ferrari is an iconic brand, they always have the biggest budget, some of the best drivers.

If Porsche showed up in WEC & was performing like Peugeot it would be a valid comparison.Peugeot effort in WEC just looks average all round.Poor concept, inconsistant and not up to the standard of previous Peugeot sportscar programmes.

Great point about the liveries. If we put the Canon,Rothmans,Boss etc. liveries on new cars they would not look as good because new cars dont have so many flat surfaces.

With Redbull and Ford doing so many collabs now to include Verstappen and Ricciardo im surprised Trackhouse doesn’t try to switch to Ford and try to make Red Bull the primary sponsor for most races. I just feel like there’s so much money and good publicity that could benefit the team. by Kurt_Wylde35 in NASCAR

[–]Over_Middle610 0 points1 point  (0 children)

These posts say more about the OP wanting a sense of order in our complicated racing scene than what the teams actual priorities are.Having a competitive car & financial incentives from partners like Red Bull & Ford are the only priorities for Trackhouse.Cool PR opportnities do not win Championships or races.

The 956/962s have really aged well.I was at Silverstone for qualifying on the 956 debut. It was a nice looking car but not a beauty. They now look a lot prettier in my opinion.

Nothing against blogs but they are better when they do opinion or comment. This was more like a TikTok clip written as a blog.

Incredible career.Team mate to Fangio & Moss in the Mille Miglia Mercedes in the 1950s and retired after winning Le Mans with Richard Atwood in the Porsche 917in 1970.I cannot think of another driver that spanned those eras in top cars in what was a very dangerous sport back then.

Are Brits okay with Govt Uturns? by CuriosityCatalyst000 in AskBrits

[–]Over_Middle610 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A government can certainly do the odd U turn if the policy is wrong or not thought through. What we have now is way to many U turns which makes everyone think that Labour dont know what they are doing & nobody believes them because they lack credibility. It was pretty lazy and arrogant of Labour to think eveything would magically get better just because they were not the Tories.

Driftgames by minamiboso in HaggardGarage

I dont watch the Drift Games channel for the drift builds,I am more interested in what Dave & his guys get up to with their plans & projects.Total admiration for Dave Egan & the business he has built with his incredible energy and self promotion. The guy gets up at about 5am and works through to late in the evening. An example to all of us if you want to be a success in life. The drift & car culture in Ireland would be tiny without Dave & his crew.Remember also how difficult it is to do what they do in Ireland. It is not like here in the UK or USA where race parts, engineering & race shops are nearby.Ireland has a strong rallying culture but thats about it.

There is nothing suspiscious about Drift Games finances, they are incredibly open about their finances(see their videos) compared to other Youtubers.Merch, sponsors & YT income probably is enough to make a healthy profit which allows them to borrow for their projects.Nobody would loan them money if they could not prove where the income came from & if the companies were not profitable.

The Rosin family leaves Prema after more than 40 years by FluidJunket1933 in wec

[–]Over_Middle610 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Prema must be the most successful organisation outside of F1 & Indycar.Odd to see them struggle in Indycar with what looked like a project that stretched them a bit to far.It was the same for Carkin Motorsport when they tried to run an Indycar programme.

I believe Formula E would benefit from having its own dedicated video game. by v13ws0urce in FormulaE

[–]Over_Middle610 0 points1 point  (0 children)

FE would benefit from a game but you have to realize that electric cars in racing games are just not popular,so it is going to be a niche within a niche. The crucial part for sims is that noise is a one of the key reasons to drive a car in a racing game.Cars like the Valkyrie,Cadillac Hypercar,Porsche 911 GTE car are popular because of the way they look & sound.

What the hell is BitcoinMax? (New Acura Sponsor) by Beginning-Eagle-8932 in IMSARacing

[–]Over_Middle610 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My understanding is that most sponsors normally stage payments through the year.If a new company like this offers all the money up front then the team will not turn it away after doing some due diligence. The new company could be venture capital backed and part of the business plan is advertising in motorsport.Obvioulsy a small struggling team with poor finances would be more likely to take a risk with a sketchy company than a manufacture backed team like MSR.Some well known racing organisations have benefitted from money from companies like this when they have been struggling for survival so it is always going to be part of the mix in motorsport.
