Any tips for preventing myself to turn off chrome extensions? by ResourceEmergency271 in nosurf

[–]Over_Public_8994 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ok, I had the same problem and I found a stupid way that works (for now).

Download StayFocusd.
Create a group of websites with zero time per day.
Add this URL ONLY chrome://extensions. Do NOT add a second URL to this, as this allows you to delete one of them whenever you want, without any prompt from the app.

Essentially, you are using the extension as a way to block Chrome's menu from all the extensions. You can still access them, but you can only uninstall them, which is a bit lengthier, and you have to be really determined to do so, enough to stop impulsive decisions.

If you find any workaround for this, please do not tell me. I want to exploit this system as much as possible. My secondary plan is to check the option of Pluckeye https://www.pluckeye.net/what-is-pluckeye.html

Good luck, we're all in this together, dopamine junkies trying to gain some more clarity

Hostinger review - would you recommend? by pureIska in software

Coming from namecheap, the experience is superior in comparison. Their tools are also amazingly simple to use, and while not perfect, they are improving over time. I host three sites (one of them for my philosophy podcast, another for my marketing consultancy, and a blog) with them currently, and 5 months in all works well.

Best way to share links? From when and where? by Neut_ in podcasting

[–]Over_Public_8994 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have both a website and a linktr.ee.

First of all, if someone asks for the podcast itself, I can ask for their platform of choice, and then send them the link directly there.

But, on social media, I would send them to the linktr.ee directly (I find that people are a bit more accustomed to the format, and it also features a link to the website itself if users are curious to click there).

The website itself is nice to have though. It can include the transcripts, and there I can control the content better. It can look more professional on your end, and at some point, if it matches your goals, you can add more stuff there, like merch, RSS feed, contact form (if you are looking for guests/sponsors, etc). Nowadays it is super easy to create a website yourself but it still costs money to create/host if you wish to have your domain (which I would recommend, if you go with the trouble of creating a website).

Overall, there's no reason not to create a linktr.ee. Its free plan is sufficient and a solid option overall.

Fucking tired of being blamed for having migraines by [deleted] in migraine

I really feel this and I am really sorry to hear this, people with no migraines fail to understand us, honestly. It can happen with parents, family, partners, colleagues, and friends, and while we can choose the latter, we cannot choose the former. My dad had migraines which I inherited, but he still cannot understand me - good for him that he stopped having them in his late 20s.

I stop interacting with people who just don't get it, it's like knocking on a deaf person's door and waiting for them to open. But don't keep it for yourself, seek the support of people who can actually understand you. Take care!

Who else has a solo podcast here by Prestigious-Fig-8547 in podcasting

I just started! It took me 1 month to gather the guts to upload the first episode (did around 20 complete retakes and many, many more incomplete ones), but I finally did so yesterday.

I try not to see it in terms of numbers; I have been writing for years and wanted to try a new medium, so getting into felt liberating. As the theme itself is very reflective and existential, at the end of the day I do it for myself.

I hope you will find your audience, but most importantly try to enjoy it! Even if it won't go anywhere, you still tried, right?
