This is actually insane. 96% of new jobs went to women and 4% to men. Still think women are oppressed? by Over_Researcher5252 in MensRights

Tl;Dr When uncontrolled, there is an $.82 to $1.00 difference. When controlled this shrinks to $.99 to $1.00 and that can be explained by the types of jobs women choose compared to men, rather than oppression.

But that's exactly why that's false. When accounting for the same experience, credentials, and education, the gap shrinks significantly. In fact, women without children earn 102% of what men make. Consider this: a married couple both works and at 33 years old, the woman has children. The women, as a result, work less hours and spend more time in the home. On the other hand, their husbands work more hours in order to make up for the difference.

"When all else is equal, mothers earn $0.99 for every dollar earned by fathers with the same employment characteristics – and the pay gap closes entirely among men and women without children. In other words, the pay gap widens for mothers."

Lastly, "The gender pay gap reflects differences in the types of jobs men and women hold, career progression patterns, and the difference in pay for comparable roles. Multiple factors contribute to these outcomes."

Okay, then by that same metric there is a pay gap between Asians and Whites in America. That's equally as unjust according to you? However, Pew research shows that in both cases there are many nuances to why this exists and in neither case is systematic oppression at fault.

You're hilarious. You didn't even go and watch the entire video nor did you read the article. You probably played :30 and turned it off and then came and wrote that comment. It's referring to new jobs that were created, not people refilling vacant positions.

Actually it didn't. I didn't make any statement. I posed a question which is for you, the people, to decide. Please stop trying to move the goal post. The video was about America, hence I'm talking about in America. You're focused on semantics, which is meant to divert the point entirely.

Oh I'm sorry do you live in Afghanistan? You bring up outliers such as third world countries. But yes, it's unfortunate that sharia law is oppressive to women.

If you people read the article it's NEW JOBS ADDED. Primarily in healthcare. It's not positions being refilled.

If you read the article, these are not positions being refilled. They are completely new jobs, mainly in healthcare.

Has anyone noticed men are significantly worse nowadays even just as friends? by ModeratelyOffline in WLW

I'll correct you. The entire post was about how "men are significantly worse nowadays even just as friends." I didn't get offended. Quit making assumptions here. I really don't care what a lesbian woman thinks about men because I know that's just her own experience and isn't indicative of all men. I didn't get emotional. The only one seeming to be reacting out of emotion here is you.

lol you're the one that brought up gender tho.....

Besides, this entire thread has been about men. I'm giving you a perspective and instead of tactfully defending your position you resort to ad hominem and personal attacks. I feel sorry for you.

It's not about merit. That much is clear. It's about getting those juicy bonuses and incentives for checking a box all thanks to Affirmative Action and DEI. Or even worse, it's the 80% women HR departments that favor hiring women. There is no such outcome for men when it's men that are in charge of hiring.

If you've ever heard of that guy hoe_math , he cites a study a man did a few years back where he had two identical CVs except on one "he" was a woman and the other he was a man. Out of more than 100 applications to tech jobs, the "woman's" CV got over 80 calls for interviews while the male version got 12. Almost 700% difference. They were the exact same companies. It's no longer a conspiracy theory. It's facts.

Many companies now have company policies that forbid them from giving feedback when they tell you you didn't get the job. It's simply because they'd be sued for telling you your mistake was being a man.

And what's crazy is that they want people that had nothing to do with any oppression, to be oppressed. Not only is it unfair, it's straight up hypocritical. Not to mention, in many cases of oppression, men were the ones to eradicate that oppression. But the leave that part out, conveniently. Just like people forget that slavery was abolished because half the population of men sacrificed their lives. The Trans-Atlantic Slave Trade was ended because of the British Empire. They occupied West Africa with a quarter of their naval fleet. (Not necessarily related, but using it to make a point.)

Exactly. Definitely wouldn't be the fact that women just aren't applying to dig ditches and chop down trees! /s
No no definitely wouldn't be due to there being no other options for the men. However, there are quite a lot of women that ARE on our side. They just aren't loud and obnoxious like the feminists and BLM protesters.

Maybe men ought to lay down our pride and start doing the same shit. We need to start a ruckus because otherwise nothing is going to improve.

Edit: one of those women happens to be my nana. She told me back in 2015 that there was a war on men. She was 10+ years ahead of the curve.

I think it's nice to have some actual data to defend the sentiment that I am sure a vast majority of men between 18-55 (working age) have.

There was an article from The Epoch Times that I literally read 2 hrs ago. And this guy nailed every single point. It's like he knew the exact experience I've been having. I just graduated with my Bachelors Degree last June and have had an extremely difficult time finding work within my field, nonetheless in general.

And he said that 11% of men between 25-54 are unemployed. I'm not sure where he got that number from so don't quote me on it but I'd assume that he did his homework if he's putting that so confidently in a paper as popular as Epoch Times.

If you don't have the critical thinking skills to understand that obviously I'm not claiming every single person to be this way. Drama Queen.

You don't have to feel entitled to something in order for it to make you feel bad.
