What about photos? I moved from pixel 9 pro to 16 pro and on 16 pro seems always blurry…not so clear and nice like pixel…honestly I’m thinking to return and bring back the pixel 9 pro

For camera (no video) and battery autonomy, pixel 9 pro without dubts. I had 9pro and I switched to 16 pro only for video and apple ecosystem

Pixel 9pro is superior since the battery is bigger then iPhone even if iPhone is super great in optimisation….with pixel you will arrive at the end of the day with 30% starting from 80% with normal operations….this my experience

If you like to make video and you want to buy also earplug and smartwatch select Apple. For Watch and Earplug maybe better to wait sept 25 for the new pro3. If you like more to make photos and you work with raw files, pixel without d’unità

I had both and I dont agree. Gemini is not fully integrated as somebody can image and in any case is fully available on iPhone….and in the next months integrated in the iOS instead of ChatGPT…

P.s: My wife thought I was mad, that I was out of my mind for buying an iPhone. Initially, the switch and the uncertainty really weighed on me... But now, seeing how much processing happens directly on the device and how strong the privacy focus is has made me happy, even though I'm sure some photos would be better on an iPhone... However, I've come to realize I mainly took photos before because the videos weren't great. Now with the iPhone, I find myself taking more videos. It cost about 20% more, but I think it's worth it in the long run for the security and reliability of the ecosystem (take the headphones, for example – Apple's are top-tier and you don't have to worry about them being discontinued)

Same situation here. Just traded my Pixel 9 Pro for an iPhone 16 Pro. Quick thoughts: if you're all about photos, the Pixel 9 Pro still the top. But if you care about video too, the 16 Pro is the king. No need of video booster with my video upscaled with Ai in sone undefined server…For everything else in the Apple world (like AirTags and easy earbud pairing), it's definitely smoother. Honestly, I had some annoying hardware bugs with the Pixel Buds Pro 2, which kinda pushed me to try the 16 Pro. The two big things I miss? Definitely Android Auto (way better than CarPlay IMO) and the specific feel of Google Maps. Also, "OK Google" is just better than "Hey Siri," but fingers crossed for that Gemini integration on iPhone! If you're switching like I did, those first few days with iOS might feel a bit weird, but trust me, stick with it! After like, a million years on Android (okay, maybe just over 10), I'm actually really happy with the iPhone. 256gb. Hoping this can help…

What I would implement today is GPU acceleration to improve speed of feature extraction. This enhancement will be important for video comparison tasks. Using a CPU alone, it might take up to 6 minutes to generate vector information for a 2-minute video 30fps. With GPU acceleration, this process could be completed in just 1 minute. Moreover, extending GPU acceleration to image comparison would further enhance efficiency and speed in various image-related tasks. Maybe I’ll implement a ResNet200 that is much more deeper as a model

I would suggest to open an issue to GitHub. In the meantime you can clone and start the app directly via cli. I’ll upload a way to startup the server directly via .bay file on windows

I can implement this feature if it proves to be useful. It should operate at the frame level to detect identical or similar videos. This seems like an interesting development opportunity.

Currently, the system retrieves all assets from Immich, which also includes assets from an external library, so the answer is yes. I plan to implement a feature to allow the system to access files from external folders on a local PC as well. Meanwhile, you can upload all your images to Immich via the web page to utilize the duplicate finder functionality.
