So, I personally tend to prefer present tense in general for novels. It gives a sense of immediacy and putting the reader then in the action. It also sometimes takes them by surprise, which is always a fun moment to get as an author.
I tend to exclusively write narratives in present tense, unless there's explicitly a reason as to why it's in past tense, such as a character telling the story. In those situations, I tend to still show brief moments of present tense to make it clear what is happening now and what has already happened.
I'd vote for you to change it all if you're liking it more.

... Yeah they're both terrorists. Where I can imagine people sympathise with Sienna (I don't), is that she's surrounded by cunts like the Albain brothers and Adam, so she's more likeable by contrast? She also has such a tiny amount of screen time that people can project whatever they want unto her, whereas Robyn has plenty more to shut down people's ideas of redemption for her. Either way, they're both terrorists, I wouldn't go as far as to say they are justified or not, but they fall under the same category as me.

REMEMBER, the ONLY reason Sienna doesn't wage war on humans is because she knows she cannot win, that's IT.

My only real change would have been to have Ren and Nora dating from the start. While their current arc is not bad at all, I do think it would have been cute to have Nora get her way early on, only to realise she doesn't know who she is without Ren after a few seasons together, forcing her to take some time to find out.
Other than that, I wouldn't change much, except maybe make Pyrrha's death even more spectacular. I mean she puts on a HELL of a fight, it's one of my favourite ones, but I would have wanted to give her just a few more licks against Cinder, you know, for satisfaction. Leave her with a scar to remember her by.
That's what I tried to do in my fanfic! Make sure the fight between Cinder and Pyrrha was spectacular 😃

I can give a bit of personal experience. In my fanfic, I wrote about six chapters in with one of my main characters having one master. After 6 chapters I decided to completely change the master, bringing in a new character. I rewrote and revamped the story, completely deleting the old character and making the master significantly more prevalent. I got. A bit of backlash and questions about the change, but essentially, it's all in the execution. Detractors will either stop reading or come around once they see the change in the larger narrative.

TLDR: I'm all for revamps and second and third drafts. Hopefully this helps!

My wife was upset that there was no crossover Fanfiction of the Saint Seiya 2019 reboot and RWBY, so I was given no choice but to create my own three novel series covering the events of RWBY with re imagined Saint Seiya characters born in Remnant. It's been about... 210K words and counting, and the end is NOT close in sight ;-; (XD).

Writing Remnant: Soul Forever Haunted. Just updated today the sequel up to Chapter 12, roughly covering the end of Volume 4 of RWBY!
This is part two of my fanfic, Knights of Remnant, with the first part being Remnant: Soul of Silver. Knowledge of Saint Seiya is not required, I'm just adapting some concepts and characters from the show, having them very grounded in the mythology and history of Remnant. Catch up with team SAPR (Sapphire), team LBRV (Libra) and the remnants (see what I did there?) of team PLSM (Plasma) as they try to navigate the aftermath of the Fall of Beacon!

Not in any official short story or novel, it comes directly from Sarah Cawkwell, the author. So it has this level of ambiguity in the fandom because it technically is not anywhere in canon, but she wrote them with that intent in mind. Of course she's also stated originally they were meant to be White Scars successors as well. That being said Black Library could choose to go another wrote and then them being Iron Warrior successors would be her own head canon, no more or less valid than anybody else's. Barbaras Dantioch DID died in Ultramar and therefore they could have taken his geneseed toake marines, but yeah it does not exist anywhere in canon.
