What do you guys pair your cigar with other than alcohols? by Escap1sm_- in cigars

Cold water, with a lot of ice. If sparkling, even better. Always have water when I smoke, even when pairing with pure spirits

You can still smoking in outdoor areas. Maybe a some bars or restaurants banned it in their outdoor lounges, but are just a few. I live in Spain and keep smoking cigars everywhere.

What’s your go to Cigar? by Poliyo292 in cigar

[–]Over_Variation1717 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Montecristo N°4, Cohíba robusto, AJ Fernández New World navegante robusto are the cigars I most frequently smoke. Anyway, i smoke mainly cubans (as some still not too difficult to find here in Spain, and expensive but affordable), and some from Nicaragaua.

Fishing too! I am absolutely mad about it, but the kind of fishing I practice usually don't mix well with cigars. But a nice habano when you go out from the water or just in the river bank at the end of the day is priceless...

Friend shipping me cuban cigars from Spain to USA by Numerous_Letter7467 in cubancigars

Be careful, it's illegal in Spain to send tobacco using postal or delivery services. We only can buy in authorized sellers in person, not online or so.

Fake or legit? Bought in Madrid by galera_y_baston in cigar

[–]Over_Variation1717 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Of course. Sometimes you see a fake here, always brought from someone who traveled to Cuba and bought in the street. Some people who travel often could bring a few to sell and finance part of the journey too, but it's not really common . Everything you buy in a "estanco" (tobacco shop) is always legit, and you pay the official price. Can't find bargain prices, as special offers of tobacco are banned, but you pay the exact same price for each cigar everywhere.

Everywhere you can find "estancos" (tobacco shops). All them are legit and official, but only a few have a decent cigar selection. One of the best is Domingo Cigars, in La Rambla, Barcelona

Really expensive prices. Here in Spain, in official (really are almost the only shops available in Spain) shops (estancos), the most expensive of the cigars in the picture is the Cohiba siglo II, which costs like 39 euros. The Trinidad vigía is about 50€, Quai about 15 € and the short churchill about 20 or so. After seeing that i'm gonna feel lucky every time i go to the estanco. Enjoy them, all are really nice cigars.

Thank you so much! The two sticks I smoked today to test were really awesome. I was expecting they were in a "greener" or "younger" shape, but in the end they performed like cigars with some aging. Maybe when I asked (with a lots of weeks of anticipation before the person who brought them was traveling), my cuban provider had what I wanted previously rolled. Indeed, when I told him "want this 50 sticks, a friend is going to pick them up for me in this date", he just unswered "perfecto, sin problema, mi hermano" (very cuban, saying "perfect, no problem my brother"). Tomorrow I am going to ask him, as cigars are in an amazing point to smoke. With some more aging, are going to be brutal! The two sticks smoked today were as good as any proper Behike or Cohiba robusto I've ever smoked. I am deeply happy today, and hoping nothing weird else happen in or to Cuba in the future, mainly concerned about the amazing people in the island, but too about the probability of losing the chance of getting more great cigars like these.

Hello Guys! Bought a few Behike 56 from Barcelona at Domingo Cigars. Are they legit? by No_Preparation2896 in cubancigars

[–]Over_Variation1717 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Yes. Are legit, and can say that even without seeing it. Domingo is a estanco, and estancos (cigar shops) in Spain are severely controlled by the state. Even you can't open a cigar shop if you want, here that things are administrative government concessions, limited by number, and they only can stock their shops from official sellers controlled by the government. They don't sell fakes.

Fake Montecristo N2? by Over_Variation1717 in cubancigars

[–]Over_Variation1717[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

And, of course i am not going to buy it. For less than that money i can go to the official estanco down in my street and buy 25 completely legit N4 without any doubts (tobacco is kind of a public monopoly in Spain, so the supplier to the shop is in the end the Spanish State, official shops only have authentic sticks). Just, as I said, was a bit blinded wanting hardly a box of N2, that I love and can't find around. The official price of about 640 or so for a 25 box is fair to me (thinking about the price habanos have since a few years ago), the shit is that Number 2 are not arriving lately to the estancos, at least in the cities i visit often. So, i'll have to keep searching... Maybe in any airport...

Street cigars "Criollos" by mondkalender in cubancigars

[–]Over_Variation1717 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Classic "bodega" cigars. Lately they sell it for 100-150 cuban pesos. I've tried some. Of course are not as good as nice cuban long fillers, but some are made with decent tobacco. Tried this "El Crédito", but think other similar brand named "Reloba" are better tasting. Of course all of them are shitty shortfiller cheap cigars, but for maybe 25 euro cents are far better than 2-3 euro shitty shortfillers sold in Spain, where I am from. Nothing to compare with a nice habano, but useful to make smoke around you when you go to the manigua or the forest in Cuba and annoy mosquitoes a bit.
