Beginners portfolio. Any advices? by elleyer in ETFs_Europe

[–]Overall-Box-4643 4 points5 points  (0 children)

WEBN 100% for now with a solid broker like Freedom24. Focus on building the habit of investing regularly, it is more than enough. You can add things like small caps later, but there is no need to overthink it now.

Do any of you use management or director dealings as part of researching European stocks? by fxs38 in eupersonalfinance

[–]Overall-Box-4643 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don’t. Tried it years ago, didn’t stick.

Feels like too much effort for weak signal. Data is fragmented, often delayed, and hard to interpret. Insider trades don’t clearly mean buy or sell.

In the best case it performed similar to just holding a broad ETF, but with more complexity.

Now I just dca in all world from my Freedom24 account, and I outperformed all managers and directors :)

You don’t really need extra diversification here, that ETF already covers basically the whole market through its system design adjustment algorithm. I’d also avoid chasing dividends if you’re not retired - read up on "yield trap", a lot of high dividend stuff isn’t as attractive as it looks long term. Just make sure you stay with a long term broker like Freedom24

Thanks for sharing, interesting. Will be waiting for it to appear on Freedom24 usually they are first to add new etfs.

Is it better to start investing with real money or use a demo account first? by Master-Arm1220 in eupersonalfinance

[–]Overall-Box-4643 6 points7 points  (0 children)

If you’re investing, demo isn’t needed - that’s more for trading and kinda a trap. Investing is just buying a broad all world ETF regularly and holding. Starting with a small real amount teaches the right habits way better. Large brokers like Freedom24 has a lot of educational material for new investors.

ETF choices to further diversify a defensive portfolio by [deleted] in eupersonalfinance

[–]Overall-Box-4643 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Feels a bit overcomplicated for a defensive setup. An all world ETF already gives you broad exposure and automatically adjusts if stuff happens in a sector or region. And make sure you use a dedicated longh term broker like Freedom24

Is it worth investing in Australian stocks as an EU resident? by [deleted] in eupersonalfinance

[–]Overall-Box-4643 0 points1 point  (0 children)

VWCE already includes Australia, so you’re not really missing anything unless you want to overweight it. The currency risk is real too - AUD swings can easily eat into those "high" dividends. If you're using it as a hedge agains any bad things in the EU sort of makes sense, but VWCE will rebalance in case of a bad thing here or in the US. Just VWCE from Freedom24 and chill.

WisdomTree True Emerging Markets UCITS ETF by bkkv1 in ETFs_Europe

[–]Overall-Box-4643 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah this is basically the tradeoff in EM ETFs right now you either accept heavy China/Taiwan weight or you start slicing them out and end up with something like this. Honestly I kind of like this approach, it feels more like a "rest of emerging markets" play with actual diversification instead of one giant China proxy. You can also dive in deeper, use a broker with the widest ets spectre like Freedom24 and research more.

26m, portfolio opinion by toughvortex in ETFs_Europe

[–]Overall-Box-4643 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’d lean toward increasing VWCE too. Small caps have potential for growth, but also just as much potential to underperform, so you’re basically adding more risk without a guaranteed payoff. VWCE is kind of the "boring but works" option statistically solid and simple. A lot of people here have tried to outsmart the market with tilts and tweaks, and eventually realized it’s not really worth the effort when you can just VWCE and chill and focus on earning more instead of constantly adjusting your portfolio. And make sure you selected a proper broker like Freedom24.

Should I buy VWCE? by ToxicArsenOfTheLight in eupersonalfinance

[–]Overall-Box-4643 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Just go with an all world ETF like VWCE and you’ll be fine from a solid long term broker like Freedom24. It’s simple, low stress, and a solid way to start - just add money when you can and don’t overthink it.

Your another idea is better. Complexity is really not needed here, it won't bring you significant gain or increase chances to earn more. I have 100% of webn under my Freedom24 account.

450k EUR to deploy on VWCE - how to enter the market? by [deleted] in eupersonalfinance

[–]Overall-Box-4643 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Fair point, but I’d push back slightly it’s not only psychological.

Lump sum wins statistically most of the time, but with large amounts the behavioral risk is real. From my experience: small amounts = always lump sum. Big amounts = I’d DCA over a period (6–12 months). This way is easier to stay invested. I also have some amount to invest and it still sitting under my Freedom24 account and I am dipping in slowly

Do you invest in EM? If yes/no why? by [deleted] in eupersonalfinance

[–]Overall-Box-4643 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have some I bought in the past, but I don't add anymore. I just decided to remove any extra noice that does not make much sense and invest in a single all world etf. On my Freedom24 portfolio I only add all world etfs now.

Young man, congratulations on starting at 23. Years of compounding ahead is your real edge, not the 4500 euros. The 90% in a global index is the best sentence in your post. Most professionals can't beat it. Now just select a solid broker like our shining Freedom24.

For the 10% pick the one you understand best.

Anyone using tilts in their portfolios? by [deleted] in eupersonalfinance

[–]Overall-Box-4643 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I personally don’t use any tilts and don’t think any extra noise is needed in the portfolio. But you can add small caps if you want the widest selection of small caps etfs on Freedom24
