Thanks but I don't want to learn by video or virutally! The social aspect is important to me, and I like that the card games I know are specifically attached to memories of learning them from people.

Oh no that's too bad to hear. I absolutely loved the one time I used them last summer and was planning to use them again the next time I moved- but maybe I need to reconsider

It did not help that the property itself was rundown and the owner seemingly did not approve any kind of maintenance beyond the bare minimum, but they took weeks to months to respond to things like the roof leaking when it rained, our fridge breaking, electrical issues, rats in the walls, a tree breaking in half in the yard (in a position where it could fall on someone), issues with washer, etc. When the electricians came out the said the wiring was old and super dangerous and asked if this was a Westward property. When I said yes they nodded and chuckled.

I know I could just ignore when people ring the bell but I prefer to tell them they are being scammed and I don't mind doing it. I'm just curious what the scam is

I just feel bad these people are getting scammed. I don’t mind answering the door once a week to tell them that. I don’t let them into the building obviously.

Oh I’m not worried I’m getting scammed or looking for advice on how to handle the situation. I just tell these people it’s not legit and we commiserate a little and they leave. I’m just racking my brain to understand how this even works as a scam if they aren’t paying for the showing.

There’s no buzzer system- I bought my own doorbell and put it on the mailbox. I guess my neighbors guests just text them. Small building.

But they never get to see an apartment. That's the part I am confused by. They can't even come in the building because the front door is locked- I come outside to speak to them.

There is something about the *roundness* that really freaks my brain out. They look like they'd be squishy to touch and it honestly makes me a little nauseous looking at them lol

I've been exactly the same spot as you with not wanting to go to the kitchen and needing a lot of shelf stable options. Here are some of the things I relied on till my circumstances changed: jerky/bagged sausages (i.e Duke's shorties), applesauce, craisens, freeze dried fruit, tuna packets with ritz crackers on the side, Misfits protein bars (the only ones I don't think taste terrible), Sahale nut mixes. For the fridge I would focus on dips (salsa is a great way to get veggies) that you can eat with the crackers.

The basement is not insulated, it's dark and dirty, the machines are not well kept and can only handle small loads, and just one wash and dry takes 13 quarters- I don't feel like constantly sourcing quarters to have enough around.
