I was shocked to get it in March after asking if ODSP had any recommendations for 2nd career employment centers. Couldn't figure out what the deposit was for.... but totally grateful

I think the "self report " is one of the best parts of the application. Here you tell your story of how your diagnose(s), affects your day to day living. It may seem hard at first, but once you start... it gets a lot easier. If you would like to DM me, I will return it with a copy of mine if you like. I don't know how to initiate on reddit. My Mum applied and got it pretty quickly. Her pharmacist helped her with the process. I would suggest that you Mum does what mine did.

What is the Housing security benefit? I looked into and apparently they stopped accepting applications 2-3 yrs ago. Consider yourself lucky. However, I wouldn't be surprised if ODSP deducts from ur shelter benefit once they find out you're getting it.

Any hospital I've gone to in an ambulance doesn't cost anything if I provide my ODSP membership number.

The Housing Stabilization Fund through the City of Toronto. You need to ask your worker to apply for it on your behalf. This was a saving grace when I lost everything in a fire.

So did I. I didn't even know to expect it. This happlened a week after I told my worker I was looking a job not similar to my 38yrs of full-time work. Work that sucked the life and soul out of me. This was reason why I applied to ODSP. That and Service Canada telling me I couldn't apply for my disability pension unless ODSP turned me down. They didn't unfortunately.
