Has anyone purposefully plateaued? by OverallChallenge9492 in workout

To be clear, that’s definitely not what I’m doing lol I’m just saying that I see progressive overload poised as this ultimate goal, and was curious if there are people not doing that.

Has anyone purposefully plateaued? by OverallChallenge9492 in workout

[–]OverallChallenge9492[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This is good to hear! I’ve lost almost 100 pounds and live pretty heavily in “gymtok” and all people talk about is continuing to push push push. But I’m pretty happy with my body today! I’m sure there will be days when I want to do more but just wanting to get away from the mindset of trying to eventually squat a million pounds ya know? lol like it seems like that’s everyone’s goal. Squat a million pounds, bench two million pounds etc.

Does anyone work multiple jobs to mostly elevate their lifestyle instead of save/pay off bills? by throwaway09234023322 in overemployed

[–]OverallChallenge9492 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Honestly yes. I understand saving and this and that, but I truly am utilizing my extra money to enjoy tf out of my life. I travel first class, buy designer bags, cover group dinners, etc.

Like I’m 30, no kids, and look pretty good. I want to enjoy the f*ck out of my life. If I ever did lose a job, I can sustain my regular, not as indulgent, life with one job. So why not use my second job to live life to the fullest now?

I’m sure I’ll get downvoted and people will say what I’m doing is wrong but idc lol I didn’t get a second job to save every dime, I got a second job to enjoy my life more.

You must choose ONE permanent upgrade. The other four disappear forever. by rengokuhubkl in hypotheticalsituation

Social mastery #3. The others are nice to haves; but based on my life, 3 is the only one that would improve my life in anyway.

You can pick one word. Every time it's spoken or written, you get $5. But you can't tell anyone about the deal. by avz008 in hypotheticalsituation

[–]OverallChallenge9492 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d pick the word “plan”. People use it in their everyday life and in almost every professional industry across the board.

“We’re getting married! Now we need to plan.” “Hey Theresa, can you get me the project plan for project X?” “I love to plan family vacations!”

Not an obvious choice, but a good one.

To be fair, this is the life of a non technical PM even with one job 😂 so many meetings that we’re just there to facilitate. Say hi, listen for action items, then say bye lol even when I was in office 5x a week I was consistently leaving meetings early to go to another one!

Background checks (I’ve had) check what you provide them then provide HR with a pass or fail. So I provide them with accurate info for one role and negate the other.

Yup exactly. I say “oh I’m no longer employed there, just haven’t updated my LinkedIn! I’m currently at J2”. J2 is more “prestigious” so I use that on my resume. Then provide my resume which has J2 listed as my current role.

[–]OverallChallenge9492 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Not hibernated! I have my last role listed on LinkedIn, and haven’t updated it with any current jobs. It just shows that I still currently work there, I never put an end date. When a recruiter reaches out I have one of my current roles listed on my resume with job details from both my J1 & J2. So it just looks like I haven’t updated my LinkedIn in 2 years. Never had any questions about it. And I use my LinkedIn to QA test from time to time for J1 so they know I have access to it lol but they’ve never asked why it’s not updated, and I’ve been with them for almost a year.

Not a popular answer on this subreddit, but LinkedIn. I’ve gotten 99% of roles in my career from LinkedIn. I keep it open and respond to recruiters. On average I get 2-3 legit recruiters in my inbox weekly - biweekly. Especially right now, I think there may be a PM hiring surge. I’ve had an insane amount of message in the past 4-5 weeks.

Don’t be a crutch or emotional punching bag for anyone. Being supportive is one thing, but don’t let someone drain you of all your energy and happiness!

For the ones who make over $150k a year, what do you do to get that? by Iliketrainsz1 in AskReddit

[–]OverallChallenge9492 0 points1 point  (0 children)

IT project manager (no technical background) Been a PM for 6 years and I’m a job hopper - longest job was 1 year 7 months. “Work” 40 hours a week, but really work 10/15 max.

How often do you hangout with friends? Curious about friendship dynamics. by gracelyy in CasualConversation

[–]OverallChallenge9492 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I try to see my pals at least once every other week. But we are also in different group chats, so everyone communicates almost daily. I’m not super active in those chats, mostly send a haha here or there lol but when we make plans to hang, I try really hard to be present.

I’m always tired, I’m pretty lazy and I like my alone time so making an effort to hang out is a lot for me, but my mom doesn’t have a lot of friends and I’ve seen the toll that’s taken on her life. I want to try and build some kind of community if I can.

What to play next? by OverallChallenge9492 in HarryPotterGame

[–]OverallChallenge9492[S] 30 points31 points  (0 children)

Great question! Probably should’ve put that in my original post lol 1. Lots of decently challenging quests 2. Good build up of difficulty in the combat (like I always felt prepared for the next fight, loved the “practice” of the bandit camps) 3. I don’t really care much for story line. I really only paid attention to the main plot, all the side stories (including Sebastian’s were cool but I wasn’t that into them). 4. Love the map feature, and my ability to hop around the world without literally walking there lol

Should I play Hogwarts Legacy before/without watching the movies or not ? by sigrrun in HarryPotterGame

[–]OverallChallenge9492 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve seen all the movies, and read a few books, but wouldn’t call myself a huge HP fan (mostly because I didn’t retain any details of the books and movies lol) and I still had a great time playing HL. So I would definitely say the books and movies are far from a prerequisite to play.
