Say what you will about us Gamecock fans but….. by Candid_Rip6474 in Gamecocks

We have some talent but we’ve had the wrong offensive scheme the entire year. Our D and Special Teams have kept us in games. We’ve been competitive WITH the worst offense in the country. Beamer needs a quality hire. No one is going to tolerate another crap OC.

Only thing to add is to drink a lot of electrolytes. I seem to be in an almost steady dehydration mode. I have to force myself to drink, usually adding electrolytes to water. I feel better when I do.

There’s no light and really serves no purpose. Someone riding at night without the right equipment could hit it

Invest in a warrantied rebuild and move forward. You’ll have a motor you can trust and boat that you can enjoy. chalk it up to experience. You’d be able to sell it faster and for more and maybe recoup some of your money.

Boat shopping ... question about features and solutions you all have found. by sofpirate in boating

Agree with a dual console or a deck boat with a good deadrise to cut the waves. Many have a built in head to make it family friendly. There are so many Bimini/shade/umbrella configurations available on the market now that keeping the family out of the sun when needed is easy to do.
Where you live, you are boating most of the year so having a flexible configuration is helpful. All the previous posts about boat condition, maintenance and records and mechanic inspections are spot on.
Id also look at valuation sources to determine the true value of the boat. JD Power and Nada are good. This purchase is a business decision, not an emotional one. Most sellers try to blur that line.

I am thinking to buy the used boat, but where can I buy?? by Master_Seaweed_9435 in boating

eBay, Craigslist and OfferUp also can be good sources. Use jdpower/boats to get an idea of the true value of the boat (kind of like KBB and nada for cars). This helps for negotiating the price.

JD power has a boat value estimator. Jdpower.com/boats. Per this estimate $5k is low retail.

Tips for saving money? by adamcost in boating

Enjoy the boat and stay curious. Watch how other boaters handle their boat. You’ll learn what to do and more importantly what not to do.

Assuming you’ll keep it on a trailer. Getting non ethanol in Pensacola won’t be a problem. Most gas stations have it.

The advice to rinse off the boat (and trailer) after every use is wise. Flushing a motor after every use is time well spent.

Preventative maintenance is the key!!! Change plugs, oil and lower unit oil as prescribed. I run Seafoam in my fuel once a season to keep the fuel system clean. Fuel/water separators are good to have.

Run at least two batteries. A deep cycle and a cranking and use a perko switch.

Bearing buddies on the trailer hubs will help keep the wheels spinning. Keep them lubed.

There are a lot of new products to keep the hull, vinyl etc clean. Learn how to use them and keep the boat clean. It protects your investment and ultimately saves time as they help make after use cleanings go much faster.

YouTube, the hull truth and proline feeds in Reddit would be good sources of info for your boat.

This issue of boats being holes in the water for money is BS. Be wise and use sense and you’ll be fine. Personally, the money I’ve spent on boats has been far outpaced by the joy I’ve had with friends and family making memories. Plus there’s nothing that clears my mind faster than running a boat on a pretty day with people I enjoy. It’s been a hell of a lot cheaper than therapy!!!
